Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 Anyone watching this? No Flintoff or Vaughan but Shah and Prior are in. Its tame stuff and I feel sorry for the buggers who will sit through this live and have actually paid to do it. Maybe its becaue of all that bloomin one day cricket of recent months but this is almost pedestrian!

Micky Ruddle Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 England vs West Indies ENGLAND (top scorers) 158-2 Alistair Cook - 82* Andrew Strauss - 33 Kevin Pietersen - 26* WEST INDIES (Best figures) D Powell - 2-49 This is a good start for England. Lets hope we don't lose any daft wickets. Partnerships is the key. We haven't had them over the last year. Maybe this will be successful era under Peter Moores.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Author Posted 17 May 2007 England... playing well How crap are the Windies??!!
Micky Ruddle Posted 17 May 2007 Posted 17 May 2007 From the likes of Joel Garner and Sir Vivian Richards, to Ian Bradshaw and some other no-hopers. Shame how they have slumped over recent years.
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Author Posted 17 May 2007 From the likes of Joel Garner and Sir Vivian Richards, to Ian Bradshaw and some other no-hopers. Shame how they have slumped over recent years. I can remember seeing some documentary thing on the windies and it was evident that so many tall lads are playing basketball and many are going to the US on scholarships or just trying to chance their arms over there, but not in cricket. When you think of the amount of Islands that makes up the West Indies you would have thought that they could find a couple of class players per Island at least but it doesnt seem to be happening out there. Then again, looking at us with the 60m people or whatever it is and a county set-up that attracts the best players in the world to come and play here and we end up with some under-par players that wouldnt get anywhere near the Aussie side with probably exception of Pietersen, and we nicked him from South Africa
Geo V Posted 17 May 2007 Author Posted 17 May 2007 Rubbish TV with all this stopping and starting for bad light but the stand-out Cook gets another 100 despite his tender age.
Joe. Posted 18 May 2007 Posted 18 May 2007 Great stuff from England at the moment Currently 363-5 Collingwood and Cook both with centuries
Matt Posted 18 May 2007 Posted 18 May 2007 @ Nassir Hussain (Thinks its him anyway) "And there's Johnny Borrell from the band Razorlike" He said it twice, sure he said Razorlike..."Your a big fan of Razorlike aren't you Ian?!" Back to the Cricket, Very good from England

Back to the Cricket, Very good from England thats what I thought I heard as well . "Theres Kirsten Dunst actress from Spiderman and Johnny Borrell from Razorlike" FFS! I`ll email in and call Hussain a plank and its Razorlight
Maybes Posted 18 May 2007 Posted 18 May 2007 Great stuff from England at the moment Currently 363-5 Collingwood and Cook both with centuries I would say more poor "stuff" from the windies to be quite honest. Collingwood was dropped on 31 and 36
James. Posted 18 May 2007 Posted 18 May 2007 4 centuries for only the second time ever Know anything about this Prior chap? He's knocked 107 off 113 balls! That's quite some batting for his first test.

Geo V Posted 18 May 2007 Author Posted 18 May 2007 Taking nothing away from England but West Indies are useless. For years Brian Lara has carried them and before then they had some amazing players like Walsh, Ambrose and Richards. I could usually name most of their side but today I cant name more than 4 or 5.

I could usually name most of their side but today I cant name more than 4 or 5. thats a good point 10 years ago the West Indies used to be awesome with Walsh and Ambrose coming at you from both ends they were vicious!! and they could whack the ball around as well!! They were one side I always used to love watching although it's a known fact that the popularity of cricket has really struggled in recent years with young people looking to go into Basketball and Football and make money
Brainy Posted 20 May 2007 Posted 20 May 2007 Has Swah done anything useful so far? 10 runs in two innings -
Milky Posted 20 May 2007 Posted 20 May 2007 Has Swah done anything useful so far?10 runs in two innings - It happens to the best, hopefully he'll bounce back.
Ultra Posted 21 May 2007 Posted 21 May 2007 Good innings by Pietersen yesterday. But the England bowling, apart from Panesar, has been woeful throughout this test. The sooner Stuart Broad gets fit, so he can replace that waster Harmison, the better!
