Tevez Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Kazim-Richards goes to Fenerbahce Kazim-Richards is eligible for Turkey through his mother Turkish champions Fenerbahce have signed Sheffield United striker Colin Kazim-Richards on a four-year deal. The 20-year-old made his debut for Turkey in June's goalless draw against Brazil and reportedly attracted interest from a host of Turkish clubs. But the Istanbul have won the race having offered in the region of £1.275m for the former Brighton man, who joined the Blades for £150,000 last summer. Kazim-Richards made 29 appearances for the Blades, but scored just one goal. That strike came against Bolton at Bramall Lane in November, but despite his poor return in front of goal Turkey boss Fatih Terim secured his services at international level. Kazim-Richards, who was born in London, is eligible to play for Turkey through his Turkish Cypriot mother. He came on after 62 minutes of the recent friendly against Brazil in Dortmund and shared four minutes in attack with Tuncay Sanli, who is set to leave Fenerbahce for Middlesbrough. "I know I have made the right decision to come to the biggest club in Turkey," said Kazim-Richards. "I can't wait for the season to start and for Fenerbahce to go on to win another Turkish title." The transfer fee will give new Blades boss Bryan Robson more freedom in the transfer market as he looks to bring in his own targets.
lildave3 Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 This is plain crazy. Brighton last year, Fenerbahce this year. He'll be at the same club as Roberto Carlos, how the hell has he managed that??
Tevez Posted 15 June 2007 Author Posted 15 June 2007 Fair play to the young chap, wonder goal against Bolton.

lildave3 Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Fair play to the young chap, wonder goal against Bolton. His only goal in 29 apps though.
Tevez Posted 15 June 2007 Author Posted 15 June 2007 Woops, hopefully he will be a big hit in Turkey. He's got the player to help him.
Mark Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 We had him on trial a few years ago when he was at Bury, missed out there.
Maybes Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 We had him on trial a few years ago when he was at Bury, missed out there. Im sorry but he is rubbish
The People's Hero Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 He's garbage. I wonder if they fancy Elvis, too.
Sods Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Im sorry but he is rubbish he is, hasnt done anything at sheff united tbh. now going to be overated
He's not bald Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 he is, hasnt done anything at sheff united tbh. now going to be overated He likes kebabs!
dandannieldanok Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 I think he'll struggle at that top level like he did this season. I think he should have stayed at Sheffield because IMO he would find his level in the championship, lure of Champions League obviously too hard to turn down.
Joe. Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Strange signing Never struck me as that good so I don't really see how Fenerbache would pay that much for him One goal in 29 games doesn't say much does it?
The Reverend Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Very strange signing indeed. Fenerbache? Very strange. Decent player though, might do ok there. Hardly the Prem is it?
Tevez Posted 15 June 2007 Author Posted 15 June 2007 He's still 20, got a good 15 years infront of him. Good move for him.
NFFC Chris Posted 15 June 2007 Posted 15 June 2007 Laughable signing, was dreadful in a struggling side so he will struggle even more in a side that will be playing champions league football next season!
Ajax Treesdown Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 why would they want him? crazy! Probably because he is now a Full Turkish International player. (1 cap) He has potential.
David Villa Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 I think this is a very good move for him. why would a good little player like him want to be playing in the championship when he can play for the turkish champions and also play in the champions league. I know what i would rather do.
Lord Nibblington Posted 16 June 2007 Posted 16 June 2007 I think this is a very good move for him. why would a good little player like him want to be playing in the championship when he can play for the turkish champions and also play in the champions league.
