Floating Fox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 They also have turbo engines It's the 2005 and 2006 seasons. Fantastic graphics, and the sound is good too, but people are complaining of the physics being too easy, but tbh it makes it fun, although I would prefer it to be more realistic Ahh 2006. Sweet. I do like Champcar much more now. I used to watch it in the Chip Ganassi Racing & Alex Zanardi era, but went off it as it about went bust. It's certainly back to it's best again now, hopefully the amount of competitors will increase (only 17 atm). Saying that though a few f1 Rejects are there, Justin Wilson, Robert Doornbos, Neel Jani, Oh & two reject teams, Minardi and Pacific! Quality stuff I tells ya!
Gené and Tonic Posted 11 July 2007 Author Posted 11 July 2007 The racing is alot better than F1 atm. Think Albers will get a place there somewhere? The cars are only 5-6 seconds off the F1 cars now, and the thing that attracts me to them is the ground effect, turbo and slick tyres. And what's the bet they don't have stupid rules of 2 race engines, no tampering with the cars after quali and so on?
Floating Fox Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Not Quite sure about those rules but I did notice one naff one.... "No blocking"
Gené and Tonic Posted 11 July 2007 Author Posted 11 July 2007 Well it seems to me they are alot more sensible than the F1 rule makers I haven't seen the latest race yet, but it's on motors TV at 5..which will be good.
Gené and Tonic Posted 11 July 2007 Author Posted 11 July 2007 Btw, here's a screenshot of the champcar mod: Not mine btw

Ahh Motors TV...What a channel! Thats what I watched it on yesterday They also have a programme about Racing Sims (3D Racing..I believe its called) It had Colin MCrae, Rfactor (Some new mods) & forza 2 on it.

isaidno Posted 11 July 2007 Posted 11 July 2007 Donington is more likely, they have got American owners with lots of money.

Gené and Tonic Posted 12 July 2007 Author Posted 12 July 2007 Indianapolis 'to lose Grand Prix' Indianapolis had hosted the US Grand Prix since 2000 Indianapolis will not host a Grand Prix on next year's Formula One calendar, track spokesman Ron Green has revealed. The circuit has hosted the race for the last eight years, including the notorious 2005 six-car race, but its future had been in doubt for some time. Thursday's deadline for extending the contract has passed with officials unable to reach an agreement. It is unclear if another track will host the race or if America will be dropped from the schedule altogether. F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, who is keen to expand the sport into other parts of the world, particularly Asia, said last month it was "not vital" for F1 to be in the United States. "There are bigger markets for us to be in other parts of the world," he added. "We don't have a lot of sponsors from the US, no American teams and only one driver. "I get along with (Indy Motor Speedway boss) Tony George and I hope we can strike a deal, but we have offers from other places in the US too." Lewis Hamilton secured the second Grand Prix win of his career at the Indianapolis Speedway last month. Here's hoping Laguna Seca will replace it if it goes
Brainy Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Lewis Hamilton secured the second Grand Prix win of his career at the Indianapolis Speedway last month. so..?
isaidno Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 The indy F1 track is rubbish, Laguna Seca would be excellent. Hopefully I'm going there next year
McFox Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 Got back from Silverstone the other day- fantastic weekend, saw the practice from Club, Qualifying from Luffield and then the race from the Pit Straight grandstand!! Thats us skint for the rest of the year, like The crowd went wild when Hamilton put in his last lap in qualifying and took pole from Kimi. Fantastic stuff, shame he couldn't keep up with the Ferraris in the race but Kimi was a popluar winner too. Being there really is an experience worth having- people say "ooh but i like to wach it on TV and see the whole race" - yea well they've also got big screens all round the track so that wherever you are you can follow the action- and i;d rather be sitting 10 feet away from the cars anyday! You really do feel 'part of the action' (well, as much as you can !) and just the sheer noise and power these beasts of cars create is fantastic. I think it was a full house at the weekend- i'd encourage anyone who hasn't been to try it. Definately going back again next year.
Brainy Posted 12 July 2007 Posted 12 July 2007 I haven't been but I definately want to go sometime soon.
Floating Fox Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Why the fock were they loving the fact that 85k showed up? It wasn't a sell out & At Australia they get 350k plus and they're on about scraping it becasue it's 'unpopular'! Laguna Seca is a mighty fine track. Everyone loves the corkscrew!
