Guest Posted 25 June 2007 Posted 25 June 2007 You lot really are sad if you think using the right grammar in a forum typing to members who mostly you don't even know is appropiate. Yes if you're writing an article in a newspaper or something but not this FFS. To me, the lack of care taken in writing, on even a mere forum like this, is like going down to the shops in your bugger pants and slippers.
Ultra Posted 25 June 2007 Posted 25 June 2007 F**king hell standards are slipping if that's the difficulty of the questions nowadays. My point is a valid one. You will earn more respect by spelling words correctly, using grammar, etc. Apart from Manwell - he just gets away with it. Take it from me - you don't. A lot of posters on this forum regard ignorance and illiteracy as virtues.
The People's Hero Posted 25 June 2007 Posted 25 June 2007 Take it from me - you don't.A lot of posters on this forum regard ignorance and illiteracy as virtues. I'm not saying you're incorrect... I'm just interested as to who you think that applies to?
AoWW Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 I would suggest this is a forum on the internet not an english exam I'm quite happy to arrange one on here if you'd like to publicly prove your competence. We actually have an English teacher in residence these days.So we all need to be a little careful. Or carefull as I'm going to say to bait her. It'll never work coming from you - especially if you make it that obvious. (Just a shame it wasn't obvious to all, eh?!) Standards amongst English teacher's aren't up to much these days. It's the quality of the trainee teachers, I think you'll find.
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Oh, Charlotte has now got a job by the way, just in case Laura of yourself were interested.Gravesend area. Good to hear. Laura went into her new school yesterday. And has promptly lost her voice. This means she can nag me less. Brilliant!
The People's Hero Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Oh, Charlotte has now got a job by the way, just in case Laura of yourself were interested.Gravesend area. AND she pulled over the weekend. So now perhaps she'll stop calling me up and playing the victim, despite her dumping me. Not that I suddenly feel quite quite bitter about the whole affair.
AoWW Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 AND she pulled over the weekend. So now perhaps she'll stop calling me up and playing the victim, despite her dumping me. Not that I suddenly feel quite quite bitter about the whole affair. Are you sure she actually pulled? She's not just pulling the old "let's make him jealous" stunt? Not that it's any of my business, mind!

Not that I suddenly feel quite quite bitter about the whole affair. Bah. Women. Or something. You should get one that's lost her voice. Like I said. It's Great!

The People's Hero Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Are you sure she actually pulled? She's not just pulling the old "let's make him jealous" stunt? Not that it's any of my business, mind! Could be the old 'jealous' trick I suppose. I think it's the second time... she likes to try to keep it a bit quiet though. She went ballistic when she found out I had a new girlfriend. To be fair, I did phone her and tell her (although this might be because she was minutes from finding out via a social networking site ) Besides, she dumped me and said some pretty hurtful things. Got an upgrade now though...
AoWW Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Got an upgrade now though... "All's fair..." an' all that malarkey!
The People's Hero Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 "All's fair..." an' all that malarkey! Are you actually at work? If so - kudos! Don't like the look of that mellow smiley. Try this one....
AoWW Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Are you actually at work?If so - kudos! Don't like the look of that mellow smiley. Try this one.... Nope, I'm at home (legitimately)... catching up on all the marking I'm supposed to have done (except I'm not 'cause I've done nothing but post on here)... shit! Anyone wanna pop round and do some marking?... I can provide food, drink and shelter from the rain!

Lord Nibblington Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Marking's not that difficult. Well. Not the way I plan on doing it. Which I'm sure is entirely wrong, but won't be time consuming at all!
The People's Hero Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 I've done it all - marking, lesson planning.... erm, actually that IS it. I've never taught a class though. I've done some tutoring... the money people will pay. If only exams hadn't just finished.
AoWW Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 It wouldn't be the first time.Would you pay me? I'd do anything for money right now. :w00t: :w00t: Oh, you were talking about marking, right?
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 I've actually taught a couple of classes over the last month or two. Badly. Those kids have no chance of passing their English GCSE. But then again, they didn't beforehand. So no harm done!
Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Could be the old 'jealous' trick I suppose.I think it's the second time... she likes to try to keep it a bit quiet though. Got an upgrade now though... I actually have women worked out. My girlfriend tried to make me jealous once - I just laughed at her. She also told me if I wasn't prepared to do something or other I can't remember what it was exactly, she'd go and find someone else who would - I just laughed at her. She can be a reet larf sometimes.

Manwell Pablo Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 So... You just have to laugh at them? Well if your actually worried about whether or not they leave you I wouldn't reccomend it.
Lord Nibblington Posted 26 June 2007 Posted 26 June 2007 Pointing and laughing is the way forward, then. Or would people say the pointing is a step too far?
