Mr Happy Posted 27 June 2007 Author Posted 27 June 2007 There's more than one person of the opinion that we've not yet spent enough on transfer fees.Sadly. Oh no don't get me wrong i'm happy that we havn't yet to pay much (apart from Nielsen) on transfer fees, i was just wondering whether other people thought that we should maybe start now looking at some fees e.g. the bigger, better players that'll set the championship on fire next season
PAULCFC Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 We need to get a few people out first, instead of looking at the people we've bought....7 and only shipped paddy out in reality. The rest were going to go anyway.July 1st is when most decent players are looking for another job
Ben Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I think the signings that we have been made so far have been good ones, considering we haven't paid anything for them, but I also think that if we are going to have a realistic chance of gaining promotion next season we need to start buying some real quality players, which will mean actually spending some money!
l444ry Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 It's a strange logic which supposes that paying a transter fee equals quality. Where did that come from?
Ben Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 It's a strange logic which supposes that paying a transter fee equals quality. Where did that come from? I'm not saying that paying a transfer fee equals quality. I'm just saying that it's very unlikely your going to get a quality player for free.

Ben Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Don't quality players ever end their contracts or have Bosman's then? Yes they do but their going to be pretty hard to come by.
LCGJess Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I'm not saying that paying a transfer fee equals quality. I'm just saying that it's very unlikely your going to get a quality player for free. Gareth McAuley?
Ben Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Gareth McAuley? No, I don't think you understand. I mean quality, real quality.
l444ry Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 No, I don't think you understand. I mean quality, real quality. Well Silvain Distin and Steve Sidwell never cost Portsmouth or Chelsea a single penny piece in transfers - so it's still difficult to understand your logic.
LCGJess Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 No, I don't think you understand. I mean quality, real quality. As in the quality that wouldn't be interested in Leicester anyway.
Mr Happy Posted 27 June 2007 Author Posted 27 June 2007 No, I don't think you understand. I mean quality, real quality. I seriously doubt that we could attract 'real quality' while still playing championshit football somehow Then again, I might be wrong
LCGJess Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 I seriously doubt that we could attract 'real quality' while still playing championshit football somehow Then again, I might be wrong Exactly. 'Real quality' players are going to get bought by bigger and better clubs, not Leicester (sadly).
l444ry Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Kisnorbo was freeand is quality for this division. Spot on, JoeB. But you have to admit he would be even better if we had paid a transfer fee for him!!!!!
Mr Happy Posted 27 June 2007 Author Posted 27 June 2007 Spot on, JoeB. But you have to admit he would be even better if we had paid a transfer fee for him!!!!! Yeah now you mention it I do see huggins5 point, I mean look what £5million brought us
Free Falling Foxes Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 Perhaps MM is hanging on to his cash incase we need to 'buy' our way out of a relegation dog-fight come January. FFF Only joking - I hope!
potter3 Posted 27 June 2007 Posted 27 June 2007 No, I don't think you understand. I mean quality, real quality. Michael Ballack
