Hello again from Cyprus lol

I started a thread about being "a little worried" a few weeks ago and that seemed to get a 50/50 split as some percieved the thread as negative but it wasnt meant to be, just that I had hoped that we would have better players signed at the time. Since then we have added Hellings, Kishishev and Chambers and they are more like the signings I thought we should be going for. The Leeds fans raved about Kisha as Premiership class and the same with Watford who offered Chambers an improved deal to keep him. Those are great signings. The dust has settled and Ive done a little research and it looks like Hellings is a decent buy having already moved for £1.5m in his career and he is still 22 or 23. N`Gotty was also offered a new deal buy Brum which must say something about his ability despite his advanced years. We are going the right way on the transfer front and I am delighted that we are being linked to players like Saganowski too. Im certain we will continue to deal and will end up actually paying a few quid for one or two quality players in the coming weeks.

The kit doesnt look as bad as most had originally said and we are ahead of the game in season tickets sales which again, didnt look like happening early doors.

MA and MM are heading the right way although any dillusions that we will finish top 6 after making so many changes is not realtic as these lads would have never played together and a pre-season isnt long enough to make them a solid unit IMO. Still, the early signs are that MA is building a good side although I fear that some of the signings may well be detrimental to Mattock and one or two of the other younger lads like Weso as I cant see where they will fit in when the deals are completed. I wasnt too impressed with Kisnorbos comments the other day either as it seems he issued a "come and get me" plea to Bruce and Birmingham. Either way, I wouldnt be as devastated with his departure as I would have been last season.

All in all, maybe it was a knee-jerk worry by me the other month because when you really give it some thought, most of the clubs havent even started doing there deals but we have managed 7 already. We get impatient as City fans and teh proof is there for all to see with these threads started about not even doing any business on a given day!!! Just imagine the poor mugs like Leeds who crap themselves as they hope that there best players arent sold! Lets just hope some mugs manage to step in for the likes of Elvis and Rab to ease the burden on the wages lol

BTW a couple of questions if you dont mind. Did Dodds sign a deal and is it true that Nielsen cost us £400k (a mate who flew over the other day informs me we paid for him). I thought all our deals were freebies but he reckons Nielsen cost us a few quid. Anyway, things are looking good so far, lets just hope they can all gel and the likes of Hellings and even Cort manage to suprise us.

COME ON LEICESTER!!!!!!!!

1) No word on Dodds - yet. One assumes he hasn't signed yet. It hasn't been said that he's turned the contract down either. He must still be mulling it over.

2) No... Nielsen didn't cost 400k. He cost about 230k, according to a Danish source (website).

I've only seen reference to him being valued at 2,300,000 Euro, prior to the signing.

I assume apexgeo has read between the lines in this section of an article we saw recently:

Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce has made no secret of his admiration for the defender and is believed to be tabling a bid to sign him.

With Birmingham promoted to the English Premier League, Kisnorbo could be lining up against fellow Socceroos such as Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka and Tim Cahill next season.

"The only thing I know is (Bruce) came and watched me against Coventry last year," Kisnorbo said.

"I'm contracted for another two years, so it's not up to me whether I leave or not. It's the club's decision and I'm happy to be at Leicester at the moment."

However Kisnorbo admitted a move to England's top flight would fulfil a lifelong dream.

"Sometimes you need to be thrown in the deep end," he said.

"I think I'm ready to play at the highest level possible. But that will only come through me playing well for the Socceroos and for Leicester."

That's the only thing regarding Kisnorbo/Birmingham I can recall seeing of late. :ermm:

Not exactly a "come and get me" plea...I think apexgeo has spent too long misinterpreting the female responses to his advances and now puts an "I want it now" spin on everything

As I said, I assume there's some reading between the lines going on.

Which lines exactly he was reading between, god only knows. :ermm::D

surely this line is fairly obvious within the context of him being linked to Birmingham :dunno:

Last I heard Dodds was going to sign the years contract but, if he's not in the mew manager's first team plans, he has a six months loan agreed with Notts County with recall built in.

I was under the impression they all had including Dodds, hold on I'll do some digging.

Apparently 7 of those have signed a deal, and one hasn't. King Gradel Odihambo and McKay have all definatley signed.

Thanks MP I will update the info in the sticky.

I hope we see a bit of McKay this season. I'm going to adopt him Thracian-style and bang on about him at every opportunity.

Someone needed to bang on about our home grown options judging by the sort of shit we kept bringing in to play for our first team.

Striker Billy McKay was a scorer and one of our best performers in the Academy play-off final at Sunderland and that followed an excellent and consistently productive season with 16 goals in his 21 League games.

His movement, close control and eye for goal are clearly difficult for defenders to deal with and I imagine he'll be a reserve team regular this season.

He might make the first team bench for the odd match but he'll do well to progress further than that because of all the other options MA will have available.
