Guest Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Exotic Fruits What happened to the good old Apple? Usurped, I'm afraid.
Lord Nibblington Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 These new fruits coming in. Makes me sick. I blame you. The Fruit Wars you started many a moon ago were responsible for the death of many a good young fruit. Allowing all the foreign types to come in.
The People's Hero Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 I blame you.The Fruit Wars you started many a moon ago were responsible for the death of many a good young fruit. Allowing all the foreign types to come in. Sh it. You're right. Them were good wars though. Victimless wars. Apart from the victims - but they were all losers, so who cares about them. Guava? Grow up son. Lychee? What the fu ck - you're not even a fruit mate. Watermelon? On yer bike, love.
Kent Fox Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Watermelon? On yer bike, love. You have clearly never infused a watermelon with Vodka! It doesn't actually taste any better but who cares when you're pi**ed! Viva le Vodka Watermelon

chili_con_carne Posted 3 July 2007 Author Posted 3 July 2007 Why not? Yeah, I think that's wrong but it's only one question. If you have done ok in the rest of the process, you could still get the job. If you don't, you have gained some vital experience for your next interview so don't stress about it. Interviews are a game - you just need to learn how to play it. Yeah thanks, it's hardly the end of the world if I don't get a job at Sainsbury's anyway
potter3 Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Lychee? What the fu ck - you're not even a fruit mate. Don't make me laugh
Joe. Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 Yeah thanks, it's hardly the end of the world if I don't get a job at Sainsbury's anyway You're lucky you've managed to get an interview really. There's plenty of people your age, including me who are looking for a job this summer. I've sent letters of to about 5 different places so far and have no replies yet... <_< Make the most of the opportunity you've got!
AoWW Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 These new fruits coming in. Makes me sick. The Durian Fruit is an aphrodisiac... allegedly. Hence the Malaysian saying, "When the durians come down, the sarongs come offâ€. Christ, I'm a mine of useless information.
Kent Fox Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 The Durian Fruit is an aphrodisiac... allegedly. Hence the Malaysian saying, "When the durians come down, the sarongs come offâ€. Ah, that well known saying - I often wondered where that came from. Always thought it was a line from a song..... ....by Durian Durian
lookwhaticando Posted 3 July 2007 Posted 3 July 2007 The Durian Fruit is an aphrodisiac... allegedly. Hence the Malaysian saying, "When the durians come down, the sarongs come offâ€. Christ, I'm a mine of useless information. I drank some Durian juice before. The stench of the juice is actually quite revolting... think about the smell emanating from the mouth of your fat, balding, 62-year old Music/Art teacher who doesn't brush his/her teeth all that often... and you've a pretty good idea as to how Durian juice smells... But the taste ain't actually that bad.
chili_con_carne Posted 13 July 2007 Author Posted 13 July 2007 Anyone have any idea what to wear for an induction day at Sainsbury's? I don't know whether to turn up in jenes or a suit
Head Honcho Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Anyone have any idea what to wear for an induction day at Sainsbury's? I don't know whether to turn up in jenes or a suit You got the job An induction is just about health and safety, company policy and other bits and bobs. Loads of dvd's to watch! Jeans and T-shirt should be fine and don't forget your bank details and identification. Good luck and well done.

I'm sure there's no end of people (maybe some on here *hint hint*) looking for a 16 year old, unqualified layabout.
Head Honcho Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 Cheers mate, so basically just wear anything? Yeh you'll probably be given a uniform anyway Not sure what sainsburys wear but you should get a couple of company shirts at the very least.
Pete_foxes Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I've got an interview for a summer job in Sainsbury's tomorrow, anyone know what sort of question's they will ask? Also what clothes should I wear (as it's only for Sainsbury's and im only 16 I don't want to wear a shirt and tie or anything) Cheers if anyone has any idea you've probably already had your interview. But its always worth going on there website. Often they have questions or similar questions that they would ask in the interview. Most likely to be things like "why do you think you would be suited to this job?" & possibly questions about costomer service etc.. Don't feel dishartened if you don't get it aswell, I've been refused for jobs loads!

The interview was basically just going through what the pay is and the hours (6AM in the morning)

Just send off loads of letters to companies (none of them even bother replying anyway, but its worth a go) And go in shops like Woolworths, Tesco, Sainsbury's and ask for application forms.
Alexikokopops Posted 13 July 2007 Posted 13 July 2007 I haven't read this thread, but if this kid is applying for the Summer job at Sainsburys at Fosse Park I'm having serious words. I need to pay off my overdraft before I start my Masters ya bastard!!
