Leicester Day Trips

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone-

My wife and I will be visiting some friends in Leicester in late October. Any suggestions of good day trips out of Leicester? We're from the US and would like to avoid the typical tourist attractions. We'll be traveling by train. Best part of our trip is two home games the week we're in town!

Thanks!

What did you have in mind? Did you want shopping, countryside walks, museums?

Belvoir Castle

Yanks love a castle. They don't have them, you see.

Or if you are a bit skint - Kirby Castle. Not a lot there though but you could jump out of the windows and play soldiers..

Happy days

I always enjoyed playing spot the chav in Coalville untill it started to get easier and easier.

You could take a short trip up the M69 to Coventry to come to the Transport Museum, my Dad loved it though it wasn't really my thing. Plus, you could always spit on the Ricoh Arena as you drove by.

I spent the earlier years of my life growing up in Kirby and I used to love going to that castle on Summer nights :D

The Avatar looks like a kid with some LCFC stuff on the bib so I was merely asking what the link to a dude abroad who is a Leicester fan! As one of a few Leicester fans in London with a London accent I get asked "why?" all the time!
