josedob Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Hello Everyone- My wife and I will be visiting some friends in Leicester in late October. Any suggestions of good day trips out of Leicester? We're from the US and would like to avoid the typical tourist attractions. We'll be traveling by train. Best part of our trip is two home games the week we're in town! Thanks!
Guest Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 What did you have in mind? Did you want shopping, countryside walks, museums?
Webbo Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 If the weathers good you should go to Bradgate Park or Rutland Water.
mark1983 Posted 18 July 2007 Posted 18 July 2007 Has no-one mentioned the walkers stadium ? bit too obvious ?

Kent Fox Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 Belvoir Castle Yanks love a castle. They don't have them, you see. Or if you are a bit skint - Kirby Castle. Not a lot there though but you could jump out of the windows and play soldiers.. Happy days
Bojimha Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 I always enjoyed playing spot the chav in Coalville untill it started to get easier and easier. You could take a short trip up the M69 to Coventry to come to the Transport Museum, my Dad loved it though it wasn't really my thing. Plus, you could always spit on the Ricoh Arena as you drove by.
Zingari Posted 19 July 2007 Posted 19 July 2007 you could fly to majorca from EMA and be in linekers bar in magaluf within 4 hours ; how much more leicester can you get
