Phil Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 No Action Over Bust-UpLeicester midfielder Keith Gillespie will face no action for instigating a tunnel bust-up after his side had been defeated 2-1 at Portman Road on Saturday. The Northern Irish international punched Town loanee Danny Karbassiyoon as the players made their way to the dressing rooms. The situation was sorted out quickly by stewards and has not been included in referee Kevin Wright's report. Gillespie was understood to have been unimpressed at a tackle made by the American during the short spell he was on the field.
Guest Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 You seem like a decent chap, Phil, so I apologise for what I have to say but that report is so sanctimonious, it's untrue (the full report, that is)! You're making me like Ipswich even less at the minute, and I didn't think it possible!!
Steven Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 If this is true, is it just me but has he also shot up in your estimation.
Ric Flair Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Gillespie is what I would call a footballer now. I am impressed with the way he's gone about his business since Levein has taken over. It also shows how disillusioned footballers can get under particular managers and how they can blossom under others. Gillespie should get most improved player of the season award and perhaps a new contract, if he continues to play the way he has done. Wingers are hard to come by and Gillespie still has life in him, he is now an asset at this club and not a burden.

I bet his match reports are as unbiased as the rubbish written in the local Leicester paper (not comic book style just utter bollox) Plus wild inaccuracy comes into it - "quiet american" - no such thing, is the man mad ?
Louise Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 http://www.eadt.co.uk/content/anglianblues...3A22%3A21%3A233 67867[/snapback] Oh my, after reading that I think we all need to go flagellate ourselves. The former Blackburn Rovers' winger was involved in a couple of incidents during the match which, although they never erupted, had their moments in terms of physical confrontations, although the referee never picked up on any violent acts.A number of Town players ended with lumps and bruises, while Shefki Kuqi needed an operation to stem a deep gash, which cut into the muscle, after Dion Dublin had accidentally caught him with his studs. The ref picked up on no violent acts and yet I feel disgusted... We're such a violent team, and in no-way as good and virtuous as Ipswich. The incident in the tunnel highlighted the all-for-one-and-one-for-all attitude of the Town players, who have shown this season they will not be intimidated, either legally or illegally. Oh how I wish I was an Ipswich fan. What is that reporter on? I understand he's biased towards his team but that report implies we’re a dirty team, when I really think we're not. I'm surprised La Manga and Administration isn't mentioned.
Ash Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Glad the Ref didn't put it in his match report or else he could face a lengthy ban But good on ya Gillie
Cat Burger Posted 17 February 2005 Posted 17 February 2005 Gillespie is understood to have been angered by a sturdy challenge by the Virginian late in the match - EADT What has his sex life got to do with anything? Sturdy??? I'd love to see whether or not the challenge was 'legal', after all these one-for all Ipswich players won't be intimidated
