Unit Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 I have this big shit black chair in my room, I don't like it. I'm chucking it out soon and don't know what to do with it as it obviously doesn't fit in my wheelie bin. WHAT DO I DO? TA
Blue Bob Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Wait until one of your neighbours has a skip and throw it in at 2 in the morning is the usual way isn't it???

Nick Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 I have this big shit black chair in my room, I don't like it. I'm chucking it out soon and don't know what to do with it as it obviously doesn't fit in my wheelie bin. WHAT DO I DO? TA I know with some white goods you can ring the council and they'll come and take it away. It may work for sofa's, you are allowed a couple of items per year, I think. Give them a ring.
Blue Bob Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Hire a chainsaw and have some fun, then get down to the job of cutting up the sofa so it will fit in your wheelie bin over the next 6 months!!!!
Flynny Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Burn the bastard. It'll reek but it should be alright. If you tear most of the foam off and shove it in the dustbin and burn the rest, maybe?
Alexikokopops Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Ring your local Council, they should do a Civics collection where they take away stuff like that. My council will take away up to 6 items for the same price, so you might wanna think about anything else you need to take away. This is all based on my experience working for my local council, there should be some kind of option like that.

Geo V Posted 30 July 2007 Posted 30 July 2007 Gumtree.com Go to freebies section, list the things you dont need and someone from a loacl charity will no doubt call and pick up if its free. If that fails, some pykie saying he is part of a charity will turn up as back-up.

davieG Posted 31 July 2007 Posted 31 July 2007 There's a place in Loughborough called SOFA that recycles furnture to 'needy' families. You'll need to convince them that it's worth recycling. They used to collect, worth a try. Sorry I don't know the phone number.
