Logan

He's made two absolute howlers so far since he's been out on loan. Hope the mugs who thought he was good enough to be our first choice have accepted they were wrong by now.
Logan 7- Very comfortable and looks commanding. Kicks the ball well and the defence were confident with him, a full season of him...top stuff.
played very well today and dealt with everything thumb.gif
Logan was in top form and made 2 great saves.
Logan was fantastically out of his goal and smothered the shot with his body.

These were reports from Stockport fans after his first couple of games, they seem pretty impressed. Yes he has made errors, but he's only young, this is why he's on loan, to improve and come back a better keeper.

I still maintain he is a better keeper than Henderson. If you were at Forest and Accrington, I find it hard to believe you can mount a case for Henderson.

Don't really rate him as i've mentioned before, but at least he's making the mistakes elsewhere! I preffer Hendo and certainly Fullop. Wonder if Logan will ever play again for us??

There's a fair chance David James will be back as England's number one goalkeeper shortly...and why not? But a video of his clangers over the years would not be short.

All goalkeepers make cock-ups but unlike outfield players who are no different, theirs are less likely to be forgotten.

Logan was definitely our best available goalkeeper.

That Fulop would be number one now is not contested, but that has nothing to do with Logan's clangers.

Anyone see his mistake today?

Most goals conceeded in the league now

Its still early for him I suppose. Its just weird how things go in football. Last season Wolves loan out Hennesey to Stockport, he has something like 9 or 10 clean sheets on the bounce playing well and within 6 months is Wales number one keeper and we send Logan down to the same club who is having a bit of a stinker if the stats are to be believed. I dont know if he is actually saving them from 6 goal hammering's so I wont right him off but this is all part of the learning curve for the lad and as well all know, keepers don't really approach peak until they are around 30 year sof age never mind young Logans age.

I don't know but he could be having a typical young player's reaction to early success.

It must be quite hard to have gone from being Leicester's first choice keeper for a spell to the altogether less exciting backwater of Stockport.

At Boston he'd been a hero. Man of the Match on various occasions and they even put in an offer to buy him.

But he was on the way up then and to suddenly find this season that he'd been passed over as deputy in favour of Henderson must have been a sickener.

Football is full of disappointments though and it is how he reacts in adversity which may well decide how good a future he'll have.

Others have been through it.

Sheehan and Ashley Chambers have spent ages in the shadows due to injury and loss of form or favour. Weso had his broken legs, Dodds has failed to get an opportunity, Porter has fallen out of the first team through injury/indifferent form and there were times when we'd all have welcomed Stearman moving on.

For Logan and everyone else there are tests of character and determination as much as ability on the route to being a recognised and established footballer.

From what I have seen of Logan, I think he has the basics needed like quick reactions and build to be a good keeper but he needs games. Last season at times his positioning was dodgy and he didnt command the area as he should. Time is on his side to improve and to learn his art in the lower leagues but for now he seems nowhere near able to be our first choice keeper and thank god we loaned him out.

Be patient. He's a goalkeeper. They are like wine. They need time.

I'd rather have that foreigner in goal though. (I know conad is also technically a foreigner, but he came through our academy so it's ok)

Some of you really like to kick people when they're down. Logan was our best choice at one time before Fulop arrived. And he did no bad job for us in the main, particularly a couple of his clean sheets near the end of last season.

So, he has dropped some clangers. He's in good company among his City colleagues.

And how many clangers has David James dropped? People have laughed at him mercilessly but he's still just about as good as England has got and he's still doing a decent job for Portsmouth somewhere near the top end of the Premiership.

If Logan has the same strength of character as James he will learn from this experience, work harder and be better for it.

Tis true, but i think he will still need come on and make some vast improvements too warrant a first team place unfourtanetly (spelling is dreadfull today)

Been on the pi$$ Roo?!

Logan has plenty of time to improve though. The leagues are full of old keepers, especially in D1 and D2 and the standard isn't very good at all so someone like Logan who has shown some ability already should have a decent career. Its all about the level of his improvement he produces as he masters the art of goalkeeping. He has a chance to do well.
