For me McAuley is our best centre back and certainly the most under rated player at the club and would be my first choice cb along probably with N'Gotty, very harsh on Kisnorbo however then chambers at right back.

Has to be Chambers, N'Gotty & Kisnorbo with either a loan signing or if we absolutely have no other option one of Mattock/Sheehan at left back. No slight on McAuley, but of the three he has to be the one to miss out, and I really believe it's about time Chambers was starting every game because, god damn he's good.

If Kaebi isn't going to be playing right wing then it might be an option to have Chambers at left back and Kaebi at right back if we don't get round to signing a proper left back?

Have you seen Chambers at left back?. He's a good player but not on the left. And we've not lost a game with Sheehan at right back. So why make a problem that doesn't exist. And what earthly reason would there be to bring Mattock back at this time?

Totally in agreement and thought so for a while. N'Gotty is pure class and has to play - but not at right back where he tires quickly and is pretty much wasted - chambers much better there with his running especially if we persist with a striker at right midfield - we totally lack any wing play down that side (oh and the left come to think of it right now).

So unfortunaltely McAuley needs to be on the bench - no fault of his own as hes been playing well.

For fear of being shot by the get the manager out within 1 game brigade - I think Megson will sort this out. I actually have confidence in him - unless we the negative fans spoil it before he gets a chance. Allen was a joke in my eyes - especially his blindness for key positions that went unaddressed the entire summer.

Hear Hear to the last paragraph!!!!!!!!!

The one game-get the manager out & booing him before the game are an absolute disgrace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can't expect Sheehan to produce a good performance every week. Thats why we need another left back. Its his first full season with the senior team and to play him every week will put more pressure on the lad, which is the last he needs.

Good young player but not one we can rely on completely. God forbid, if he has a few cock-ups which causes defeats or draws then he'll get slaughtered and that'll do him no good.

Exactly what he said

No one has lost confidence in McAuley. A choice has to be made and its 2 out of the 3. I just Kisnorbo and N'Gotty are better at what they do.

McAuley is class though. Best thing Rob Kelly ever did for this club.

Maybe "lost confidence" was the wrong term, I think he has potential, but he's not the best option at the moment and the voting endorses that.

I've already said we need an alternative left-back and that Mattock should develop his game in the reserves and/or on loan this season.

For me personally, it has to be Gareth M n'd Paddy Kiz with Chambers at right back. N'gotty does not deserve a starting spot tonight, he was appauling against QPR for an experienced player he didnt look like he knew what he was doing half the time. McAurley & Kisnorbo were solid unit, so i'd definatly pick those two.

Mattock and Sheehan had great games tonight (not just for his goal either) when together they seem to have much more confidence and look more comfortable

They played well together in pre-season too. I was surprised by Mattock's recall but delighted to see him recapture some form.

Ferreira is obviously not yet ready otherwise i think he would of started

As difficult as it is to leave N`Gotty out, I would! I just prefer the pacey Chambers at right-back and also think that the McAuley/Kisnorbo partnership in the middle works well. I`d have Kaebi RM and Hume up front though and am getting a little tired of our managers whoever they are continuously picking our best 11 players and not the best 11 available who play in their fav positions and give the best balance. Its like watching England pre last week with no balance at the moment which is frustrating because I honestly believe we have the players there.
