I'm asking because i feel that Megson needs to pick 2 from 3 and bring Chambers back in to right back, Personally i would play N'Gotty and McAuley because i think they are better in the air and more composed then Kisnorbo and Chambers is by far the best Right Back we have.

so what do you lot think?

N'Gotty hasn't put a foot wrong all season. McAuley the past few games has looked back to his best and Kisnorbo has been steady.

I agree that it needs to be 2 from the 3, because Chambers impresses me both defensively and going forward. Plus there's the small matter of Kaebi.

Looks like Stearman, Kenton and Maybury are well and truely out of the picture. Stearman needs games quickly.

Chambers Kisnorbo and McAuely for me.

For the simple reason these are all younger, fitter and will probably be at the club longer than Bruno will and if we are going to do well i think the key is having a settled backline.

Bit harsh on N'Gotty who hasn't done anything wrong this season, but that's just my opinion on it all.

I think we definatly need Chambers at right back, really impressed with what ive seen of him in that positon. As for centre backs i would have McAuley and Bruno. Bruno for his experience plus he hasnt done alot wrong and McAuley for that fact that i think hes a better player than Kisnorbo. Good to have this crisis though,Maybury and co are out the situation now.

That's why we've brought back the reserve team..

If we are to develop as an attacking side we need some pace in the back line and the ability of one of our centre-backs to cover a full-back going foward or to push up into defensive midfield when we are attacking.

I'd have Chambers at right-back. He was brilliant with his defending against Forest and offers much in terms of pace, skill and energy going foward.

To me N'Gotty is an excellent reader of the game and plays simple passes quickly when he gets possession. I'd have Stearman as the other and McAuley or Kisnorbo on the bench.

Stearman would perform the functions mentioned in the first paragraph. I've always liked defenders who read the game, pass well and preferably have some ability on the floor as well as in the air. And at least two of them need to be quick.

added your choice to the poll, lets see how much support you get, still enough people yet to vote for it to be fair

added a chambers/kaebi poll but cant vote on it myself if someone can edit that i'd vote for chambers

Stearman needs first team football though. He's stagnated big time. I'm wondering whether a loan spell would help, or whether he'd think that was demeaning. I honestly thought he was going to be a quality player, I hope he can re-discover his form. I hope his attitude is one of determination to succeed.

He needs flogging - he's never going to make it, he lacks quality and temperament. He may have been part of our past but he plays no part in our future.

Totally in agreement and thought so for a while. N'Gotty is pure class and has to play - but not at right back where he tires quickly and is pretty much wasted - chambers much better there with his running especially if we persist with a striker at right midfield - we totally lack any wing play down that side (oh and the left come to think of it right now).

So unfortunaltely McAuley needs to be on the bench - no fault of his own as hes been playing well.

For fear of being shot by the get the manager out within 1 game brigade - I think Megson will sort this out. I actually have confidence in him - unless we the negative fans spoil it before he gets a chance. Allen was a joke in my eyes - especially his blindness for key positions that went unaddressed the entire summer.

Its a healthy crisis we have here. For me, Kisnorbo and N'Gotty should play CB and McAuley will be the unfortunate one to be dropped on the bench. As Thrac said, Bruno is an excellent reader of the game and Kisnorbo is always rock solid. Thats not to say McAuley isn't, he's been excellent too. But I just think thats the best combination. James Chambers should play RB tonight. I think its an absolute travesty that the right hand side of ours is being completely wasted and it needs sorting out.. And then there is this smaller matter of accomodating Hossein. I think Ginger will sort this lot out.

Has to be Chambers, N'Gotty & Kisnorbo with either a loan signing or if we absolutely have no other option one of Mattock/Sheehan at left back. No slight on McAuley, but of the three he has to be the one to miss out, and I really believe it's about time Chambers was starting every game because, god damn he's good.

If Kaebi isn't going to be playing right wing then it might be an option to have Chambers at left back and Kaebi at right back if we don't get round to signing a proper left back?

kisnorbo and McAuley center back but i'm not sure who should play right back. chambers has done well there when ever he's played there but N'gotty's been solid aswell.

I wonder why Watford let Chambers go? He's an outstanding player.

And I think its worth a mention that N'Gotty is 36 and evidently he won't be able to play every game. But he's a class act with a top footballing brain.

It seems many have lost confidence in McAuley with good reason imo...........yet I don't remember seeing much criticism of him on here unless I missed it.

Maybe becuase they think Ngotty and Kisnorbo are better!!! I for one think Macauley is lesser of the 3!!

No one has lost confidence in McAuley. A choice has to be made and its 2 out of the 3. I just Kisnorbo and N'Gotty are better at what they do.

McAuley is class though. Best thing Rob Kelly ever did for this club.

It would be a bit harsh to drop Bruno because he's been great this season but I think we'd be better off having a more attack minded right back.

For me it'd be McAuley and Kisnorbo with Kaebi at right back.

Posted

Chambers at right-back, Kisnorbo and N'Gotty in the middle (I'd probably try Kaebi on the right-wing, with Ferreira on the left). We need quality attacking full-backs, and, with N'Gotty aging, he cannot be constantly running up and down the flanks all day long, but he is probably better at centre-half anyway.

It may cause criticism, but every time I have seen St.McAuley, he has been weak in the air, has had poor pass and a very limited understanding of how to read his strikers. Admittedly, there have been times where he has impressed me, but this is marred by his inconsistency, whereas Kisnorbo and N'Gotty are the most reliable players in the squad.

All depends on who were playing and what we want to get out of game.

But the two options I'd lean towards are N'Gotty Kisnorbo and Chambers and McAuley Kisnorbo N'Gotty.
