You joker.

The Fryatt situation cannot go on. It's not a case of him being unfit any longer. But whether you like or not there is still a great question mark as to whether Fryatt has the pace and strength to succeed against decent opposition.

He made what seemed to be an utterly inconsequential return to the side on Saturday. No he wasn't the only one at all but the point I'd make is that when he's not scoring Fryatt rarely seems to contribute anything of great importance at first team level.

I hoped his run of goals for the reserves would give him sufficient confidence to show his best again at the higher level but it wasn't so and in hindsight I would far sooner have had an unsettling player like Hammond coming on to rough them up a bit.

I had no doubt we would miss his pace and strength but thought we would sign some better alternatives. There is no evidence that has been the case at all.

YAWN.

Fryatt is better than Hammond. All Hammond does is run and get caught offside.

Fryatt scores more, works the channels better and brings others into play more than Elvis does.

Bit harsh, he's already blind.

Why can't footballers be fired like everyone else?

If I was half as incompetent as the Elv I would have been unemployed years ago!

The man is a skid mark on the footballing profession! Sorry "balling profession"!!!

Rice an pea Elvis, rice an pea!!!!

As you and others clearly believe. What a pity there's been so little evidence at first team level for so long.

You'd back the professionals' judgement eh? In which case how the hell did people like Low, Sylla, Jarrett, Horsfield, Glombard, Yeates turn up here?

The wages issue might be closer to reality - either that or Hammond believes he can still deliver. And looking at our choice of attackers thus far this season I'm damned sure he's got a point.

Look away from the various managers we've had at City Thracian - I was pointing to the wider football community. Why has no other manager in the Championship taken on Dodds/Elvis? Because their not good enough for this level, thats why.

But in answer to your response, yes I would back the professionals judgement. Levein, Kelly etc may have done a poor job at City, but its all relative I'm sure their better at judging players than you or I - thats why their football managers and we aren't.

I hope elvis get aids, or something equally horrid and deadly!

perhaps thats a bit harsh! Polio or TB would be sufficient!

I hope Fryatt gets even more morbidly obese so that he has to be craned out of his house and put on the back of a forklift truck to receive treatment on his fat sores.

I'm not saying Elvis Hammond is a great player or anything but I do think he comes for a lot of over the top stick on this forum. A lot of people have jumped on an anti Elvis bandwagon and it does annoy me somewhat.

I know Elvis is not the greatest of players, but he's not as bad as most make him out to be in my opinion. Last season he did actually weigh in with a few goals, I think people will be surprised with actually how many he did score.

I'd like to also add many of these goals were scored away from home, so most of you on here would not have seen them. Therefore you are basing your judgements purely on home games.

The guy is crap end off, I always stated that elvis isn't nowhere good enough at this level and he doesn't know where the goal is. People who reckon Elvis is better then Fryatt need there heads testing like last year when Fryatt came on against derby changed the game with a great piece of skill and also against forest he made a impact. Elvis isn't a impact player just someone who may score a tap in every 5-6 games. If Fryatt is on form he is probally the best striker at the club and i bet when he moves on he starts banging them in.

Their stats are pretty similar though-Wikipedia says Hammond has scored 8 goals in 58 appearances and Fryatt has scored 9 in 52 for us. I agree Fryatt's a better player, but he needs to get better quickly.

What about for walsall ? He had a good record there and was one for the future.

He scored 27 goals in 70 games for Walsall apparently, 1 goal every 2.5 games. Obviously we need players that score that many goals, not sure if he could ever repeat that goals to games ratio in the Championship though.

He was still scoring goals though ! How can you say Elvis is better then Fryatt ? Elvis is shite and probally the worst striker in leicester history. The guy has nothing but pace and being fast doesn't make you a good player now does it. Fryatt i know will leave and probally end up scoring 20 a season in the championship. I remember when the lad was being linked with everton,b-ham and blackburn. The only thing elvis has been linked to is a banjo and a cow arse.

No-one else is allowed such luxury but Fryatt has lived on what he did at Walsall for ages. No-one suggests he cannot score goals at that level. But there are serious questions about whether he's strong enough, fast enough and versatile enough to shine in the Championship.

Even I cling to hopes because it gives me no pleasure to see city's attack struggling so. I also wish we had a more creative team and didn't clam up so on our travels which would obviously give all our attackers more opportunities.

But Fryatt's first team goal famine has gone on a long, long time now.

I was pleased to hear Elvis was back from injury, only so he could fook off elsewhere but I was shocked to hear he was thrust straight into the reserves. That obviously went wrong though as he broke down early unless is was a cunning move by GM? lol
