lookwhaticando Posted 4 October 2007 Posted 4 October 2007 I wae reading what Megson said in the Mercury " the last we had a good home record Les Ferdinand was in the team"When Ferdinand was in the team we won 3 home games ! 3 games out of 19 (rather than 23) and at a higher level of competition.
Thracian Posted 5 October 2007 Author Posted 5 October 2007 If we ever focused on scoring goals rather than being obsessed with preventing them we'd see our fortunes improve. The emphasis needs to change and yet our managerial appointments deny that by definition. We need an attack-minded manager with good attack-minded coaches. The guys we've had in recent years were better suited to being security guards than enterprising football managers. Strange really. I always thought MM championed attacking football. But when even he talked about grinding out 1-0's you knew just how limited his choices had been for a Martin Allen replacement. As it is we've got what we've got and all that's changed from the previous managers is the hair colour. They say Megson needs support in his efforts to do it his way. And if that means grim there's been much worse precedents. In past times people used to watch executions for their entertainment. Still do in some places. Tasteless comparison? Or are we just killing football now?

But as you say we've got what we've got so we just have to grin & bare it & eventually i believe it will come good

BigGibbo Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 You sound like my wife! in what part? Is she an eternal optimist aswell then
Thracian Posted 5 October 2007 Author Posted 5 October 2007 in what part? Is she an eternal optimist aswell then She's just like a Leicester fan really. Lives more in hope than expectation.
Mark Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 Or are we just killing football now? Well it's killing it for me right now. To think we're on TV 4 times upto Christmas after the pre season break, with 3 of them away games Megson will no doubt be set out to bore the nation.
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 i go to nearly all home games but missed the watford one

ASH17LCFC Posted 5 October 2007 Posted 5 October 2007 And 4 of them came in one. Wasn't that when Matin Allen was at the helm ? 4 goals at home ... Those where the days.
