Worst Home Record?

Thought this a sobering post by Jimmy Lad on Talking Balls:

"Just looked at the stats.

Including our last season in Prem and since, our home wins have stacked up like this:

Season Played Won

2003/2004 19 3

2004/2005 23 8

2005/2006 23 8

2006/2007 23 6

2007/2008 5 1

93 26

That is a win % of under 28 or in simple terms we only win about 1 in 4!

With that record, how we have avoided relegation so far is a miracle!

Anyone know if this IS the worst of the 92 clubs over this time period? It would take some beating?!

Boy have we fans suffered!!

The last time I saw us win at home was when we beat QPR 1-0, David Connolly penalty.

January 2005.

Bloody marvellous.

You're a regular then?

You're a regular then?

Admittedly the past two years my attendance hasn't been brilliant (hard up University student, weep for me people).

You'd be looking at 5 matches a season max, all my money seemed to end up behind the Union bar.

Due to an increase in funds this year and more people to go with (there's not that many Leicester fans around Lincoln) I've been better.

Last night was my 7th match of the season (including the ridiculous 740mile round trip to Plymouth).

Missed the bloody Watford match though didn't I.

Last season only Luton had a worse record at home than us. Fortunately our away record was around the seventh or eighth best in the league (if I remember correctly..can't find a good table on the net of last years standings) which is how we stayed up.

I dunno which is worse that stat or the stat we've socred 8 goals in 8 games.

Oddly enough though Chelsea and Man Utd have only scored 7 goals in 8 league games.

Yep, Man u have one nearly every game 1-0, think the exception was Chelsea. Chelsea are struggling.

I don't know if you've noticed but Arsenal have scored 16 goals in 7 league games and are currently two points in front of manure with a game in hand. United also spent over £50m in the summer. Chelsea are eighth and three teams below them have a game in hand and could all be above them if those sides (Villa, Newcastle, West Ham) take advantage of it.

I don't really know how Chelsea and united's records are justification at all for our poor scoring record.

We just don't win enough games. I think only five teams in the league have lost less games than us this season and two of them are the top two - Watford and Charlton.

Bristol City, Burnley and Stoke are the others with one defeat I think. Two defeats in eight league games isn't a shocking record, but the fact we've only won one and have played out a bunch of boring draws is why we already are in our usual spot - hovering just outside the top three.

Bottom three obviously. Ta for the correction MP. I was obviously getting carried away with the wild pre-season optimism again.

And under Megson early signs are not indicative of change. This probably seems dumb but entertainment has been so sparse over recent seasons that my current wish is to see us really have a go at teams at home. We may lose more but we might win more too and if we really had a go and lost I'd still be happier than watching another sterile draw.Last night the priority was to avoid defeat rather than to seek the win, a point best illustrated by bringing everyone back for corners rather than leaving 2 up as an outlet and to force them to leave probably 3 back. If you do the pools getting Leicester down as a home draw could be a nice little earner

I've not seen Leicester win at home since Pompey, last game of the season in 03/04.

And it's not like I've not been to a lot of games because I have.

At least you are favourite to win a signed City shirt.

It's the Walkers Stadium.

Since we moved there we haven't really done very well.

I say let's move, how about playing around the county on local pitches?

That way we would attract more support within the community.

No big stadium to fund, no need for loads of permanent staff.

Play would improve as they would be less likely to fall over if tackled in case they land in some cow shit. :P

Down with the Walkers. :protest:

Someone was talking on the radio last night that we've played 109 games at the walkers and won less than a third of them

And just think, that stat must be even worse since we got relegated. seeing as we had a fantastic record there in our first season.

The reason........we have the most uncreative midfielders in the league, fullbacks don't support and when they do............well look at Mattock and Stearman last night. How many crosses did they muster between them ?

Well if we take a step back and put things into context, I don't think it has been too bad. Yes, we haven't won enough in the league but so far our record in ALL competitions this season is:

Wins: 4 - Draws: 5 - Loses: 2

Thats reasonable considering we've played some big teams in the Championship and Aston Villa.

That aside though, it has been poor. We've signed A LOT of players and played hardly any of them despite some being very impressive internationals. I suppose we ought to give Megson the chance to find his best team as with as many players as we have, it could be quite a while to do so...

I say, give Megson till Christmas and if we don't start to see some major improvements and wins then we might have every right to start panicking! For now, lets get ready for the next couple of away games and then kick off from there.

Come on Leicester!!

I wae reading what Megson said in the Mercury " the last we had a good home record Les Ferdinand was in the team"

When Ferdinand was in the team we won 3 home games !
