City boss Gary Megson found it difficult to hide his disappointment after watching his side go down 1-0 to Sheffield United at the Walkers Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The Foxes had gone into the game having kept four clean sheets in their last five outings.

But in a game of very few chances a solitary second half strike from Danny Webber would secure the points for the visitors on the night.

He said: "It was a disappointing game. I think the second half masked what we did in the first half. We had some decent chances but we didn't take any of them.

"We looked solid in the first half but we didn't pass the ball and create as well as we would have liked.

"But that is something that we have got to try and improve.

"I thought the second half was following the pattern of the first but once they scored you could certainly see one or two heads drop. We didn't really look like we were going to get back into it.

"Matty Fryatt got himself into some good positions and we there were occasions when we played some decent football in the first half. But when you are doing that you need to score but unfortunately we didn't do that."

The Foxes lost Stephen Clemence and DJ Campbell to injury during the first half - forcing Megson to reshuffle his pack.

He added: "Losing Clem so early on in the game was a problem for us. We aren't really sure what he has done. He has injured his hamstring, but what extent at the moment we don't know.

"DJ was feeling his groin as well so he couldn't carry on.

"So we made the two changes. We changed it to a flat back four once we went 1-0 down and we put two wingers on but really that didn't have any impact.

"It was only a few weeks ago that everyone was talking about the Aston Villa and Sheffield Wednesday result. Everything in the garden was rosy. Two weeks later it is all doom and gloom, but that is football.

"There are always problems to sort out but we will come in tomorrow and see where we go from there."

Megson also relayed his thoughts on new signing Collins John, who signed a three-month loan agreement with the club in the build up to the game.

He said: "We have been trying to get Collins for a while. His potential to cause problems was there for everyone to see in the first half. A bit of tiredness crept in during the second half as you would expect. Unfortunately he collided with Marton from a corner and he was unable to play any real part in the game during the last 15 minutes. He was just hobbling about."

To me he makes it sounds, as if it was a close and good game, when it was complete opposite

John to be honest didn't do anything, apart from miss our best chance ... But we got no midfield who can give him good serivce.

I might go down to the training ground tomorrow.

See the smug look on some of their faces.

Something to add-on:

Gary Megson was unconvincing in reaffirming his position as Leicester boss after Sheffield United ended the Foxes' four-game unbeaten run in the Championship.

Bolton approached Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric for permission to speak to Megson for a second time prior to the 1-0 defeat at the Walkers Stadium.

Mandaric, as he did over the weekend, rebuffed the Barclays Premier League strugglers' request.

Megson claimed to know nothing about the latest approach and dodged questions asking if this was his last game in charge of the club.

"I don't know," said Megson. "I am the manager of Leicester and I want to talk about this game.

"After that I am going to see the chairman to see where we are going."

That seems pretty terminal to me.

I have no concerns about Megson being here or not. I am perfectly happy that Beaglehole/Stowell know the players better than anyone and can keep the ship on a steady course.

In fact, given the current situation they would possibly be the best option.

I cannot see Paul Ince my original choice to succeed Worthington as being an option but what we need, above all things, is an attack-minded boss. Someone who doesn't give a shit for reputations and will organise a team capable of attacking and defending in numbers.
