Wezleylowski Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Magnusson = Twat F'uck off back to Iceland
Sods Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 Here is a better idea, bring over the half time entertainment. Cheerleaders. Nuff said
ASH17LCFC Posted 26 October 2007 Posted 26 October 2007 What a crap idea, the teams are for the people of the city to support and come watch them most saturdays. Not for some yanks to come and watch.
purpleronnie Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 To be honest I agree with him, fans that go to games would see why this is a complete disaster, an armchair fan like yourself (No offence, I understand it's hard to get to games) wouldn't quite understand!EDIT: To be fair, the MLS is actually a decent league, dont agree with the slating of their footy & although completly off-topic there are aspects to the way that they run the game over there that are much better than ours. Having been to quite a few MLS games I have to agree, had much more fun at Houston than I ever have at the walkers.
Ultra Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Magnusson should be deported for even suggesting such an absurd idea. I'm sure fans at the hammers (or whichever club is dumb enough to go with this) would be gutted at having to play a home game with Man U or Chelsea in somewhere like New York. The next step from this franchising, whereby a Premier League side is based permanently in the states. Does the FA really want this to happen?
placidcasual Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Having been to quite a few MLS games I have to agree, had much more fun at Houston than I ever have at the walkers. Question for you. You have an against modern football logo in your signature. Then you have the Houston Dynamo badge as your avatar. Don't you think that is a contradiction given that Houston only exist because AEG couldn't get a stadium built in San Jose. I assume by your support of Houston that you also approve of the MK Dons?
Webbo Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I've put 50/50. I can see it could do Leicester a lot of good to make the brand better known around the world, more fans, more shirt sales etc. But if we drew ManUre in the cup and it was moved to America I'd be f**king furious.
Jordan Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I wonder how Miami Dolphins fans feel about their team playing a "Home" game against the New York Giants tomorrow at Wembley Stadium.
Floating Fox Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 I wonder how Miami Dolphins fans feel about their team playing a "Home" game against the New York Giants tomorrow at Wembley Stadium. They probably don't give a fu*k, NFL is the most pathetic sport on this planet.
Joe. Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 They probably don't give a fu*k, NFL is the most pathetic sport on this planet. Try telling the Yanks that. Heard of the Superbowl? It's only the most money-making event on the sporting calendar by some way.
Floating Fox Posted 27 October 2007 Posted 27 October 2007 Try telling the Yanks that.Heard of the Superbowl? It's only the most money-making event on the sporting calendar by some way. Says enough for me.

I lived in Houston and went to games whether I agree or not with the ethics of higher management or not didn't stop me having the time of my life at games. Its not the Houstons fans fault. The avatar is because I disagree with the rules and regulations we have to put up with especially in england. Houston fans were involved with the people who ran the club and were encouraged to stand, make noise and also were offered ticket price reductions. I just felt welcome in the stadium but at the walkers it was almost like they want everyone to sit in silence...its suppose to be a football match not the opera, something the americans seem to understand more than us.
placidcasual Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 I lived in Houston and went to games whether I agree or not with the ethics of higher management or not didn't stop me having the time of my life at games. Its not the Houstons fans fault. So you would be happy to go and hang out with the MK Dons fans? After all, it's not their fault that management stole a team. The avatar is because I disagree with the rules and regulations we have to put up with especially in england. Hmmm. Houston fans were involved with the people who ran the club and were encouraged to stand, make noise and also were offered ticket price reductions. So that excuses moving a team? Every club in MLS gives discounts to the supporters groups. I just felt welcome in the stadium but at the walkers it was almost like they want everyone to sit in silence...its suppose to be a football match not the opera, something the americans seem to understand more than us. You haven't been to a Columbus game then. You would have a different view.
Jay Posted 28 October 2007 Posted 28 October 2007 Try telling the Yanks that.Heard of the Superbowl? It's only the most money-making event on the sporting calendar by some way. only because it goes on for about 9 long boring hours with about 30seconds of play and then 5 minutes of advertising it's only 4 15minute quarters and they manage drag it out for hours so the americans can get another 5hot dogs down their neck!! the idea of playing Premier League games abroad is a disgraceful idea football is based on home and away games and tradition, it's as ludicrous as some of these foreign owners wanting to scrap relegation and promotion to protect their interest. it would signal the death of football in this country and turn it into the horrible franchised, name changing ,moving about car crash that is American sport
