Durnerz Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 Glad to see Serie A back on our screens and enjoying Roma vs Empoli but surely they could have picked a better co-presenter than Laura Esposto, she has to be the most irritating presenter alongside John Barnes (who incidentally is on co-commentary) Bring back James Richardson!

Manwell Pablo Posted 4 November 2007 Posted 4 November 2007 It was on Bravo last year complete with James Richardson but the games always clashed with the La Liga games, and given the choice La Liga is my preference for some reason. Richardson was good as his job but I just rensented him big time . Paid to sit in Italian Cafes and follow Italian football. Barsted I hope he's on the doll now. I don't think I've missed a single game yet, it is good that it's back on standerd TV. Barnes is and always has been a beyond terrible pundit and commentator I have no idea why they haven't got rid yet. Laura would be all right if A) she knew anything about football B) she could form a sentance, her English is shit. Good game today, Sebastian Giovinco is the luckiest man in Italy though.

Is it years of desensitisation from seeing games with Lawrenson doing an even worse (somehow) job or something, cause as long as there isn't an autocue involved he's mediocre rather than shocking, I think.

John Barnes has everything that annoys me in a commentator, a inabilty to pronounce footballers names, frequent mistakes in his statements, no sense of humour, and talking about things that just aren't relevant. Theres only one pundit I hate more than Barnes and thats Pleat. Lawro's just annoying, he thinks he's some sort of comedian. But his statements regarding the games his watching are normally quite accurate.

He does podcasts for the Guardian website and I think he may also do the evening game on Setanta. An Ali G catchphrase comes to mind every time I see Barnes on screen (either on this or the abysmal Strictly Come Dancing) while Laura is just there to look glamorous (not too difficult alongside her co-presenters ) Good game today, Sebastian Giovinco is the luckiest man in Italy though. Agreed. His free-kicks aren't quite of Sheehan standards..
