Kinda figures. :|

He a decent lad / mountain? Make sure he doesn't kill me! :o

Yeah he's alright, sound enough to talk to, hard to understand him though, if you can't understand "street talk"

Only bad thing is that he thinks too much of himself.

I can understand street talk Berty baby, believe me. He's bound to think a lot of himself though, really. He's a decent footballer, has a good reputation, been scoring goals for fun and not many people would tell him the opposite of what he thinks.

I may have to join you on a night out one time. You seem well connected.

Sappleton is actually a monster. The man scares me.

He didn't scare Hinckley too much as we lost ignominiously in the inaugural Westerby Cup Winners Cup Final at Holmes Park. After his first half goal, well worked with a low pass from right-back Alan Maybury, a clever turn and cross from Bill Kee and tap in at the far post, Sappleton, huffed, puffed and failed to make much further headway.

Billy Kee was little different. Despite his goal-a-game for the Academy and his excellent assist he had another shot blocked after Djiziri had provided a great chance for Hellings (itself blocked) and then failed to score with a close range header after Djiziri beat three men on the right and delivered a perfect cross. Thereafter Kee progressively faded and was eventually substituted partway through the second half.

He wasn't the only one. Andy King was drafted in to bolster defence and midfield but although he started by looking classy enough in defence his recent lack of match time began to show dramatically and he simply lacked the fitness to cope in midfield second half.

Few really came out of the game with credit because it really was an embarrassment in the end. Leicester collectively failed to last the pace. They were outrun and outfought in the end.

To some extent Kaebi at left-back and Djiziri on the left wing looked as good as anyone. Kaebi was busy and had one splendid run through midfield and fed Djiziri whose low shot across goal only narrowly missed.

Going forward the little Iranian passed and supported well enough but City left themselves open to the counter attack, particularly second half and it was a cross from the right which allowed Hinckley's Callum Lloyd to put them ahead after 75 minutes from a Dominic Roma cross, Jamie Lenton having equalised with a first half penalty after a foul on Luke Edwards in the box.

Kaebi gradually started to look tired and to lose his discipline. He committed several niggling and unnecessary fouls, including one he should have been booked for but which actually earned a warning for Djiziri. I was more convinced that ever that Kaebi needs to play in attacking midfield.

But it was as City faded that a fast counter attack led to Hinckley scoring a third goal through substitute Alex Johnston from an Edwards pass as the visitors surged forwards in numbers. It was no more than rampant Hinckley deserved.

City did lift themselves for the semblance of a final flourish but it was a token gesture with only a long range shot by Djiziri - which passed just a minute from time, really threatening the Hinckley goal.

Djiriri certainly had his best match to date and was probably man of a poor match for Leicester. Some of his trickery was a delight, particularly that which created City's opener.

He might well have had a goal and a couple of assists but, again, became distracted and frustrated towards the end, getting in with arguments with the referee instead of maintaining his concentration.

Still at least it showed he was bothered and his elusiveness did offer some encouragement.

Ratings:

Pentney 6 (No chance with the goals and little activity worth noting).

Maybury 6 (Started by defending and supporting well and made City's opener, but had less effect later)

King 5.75 (Reasonable first half at centre-back but ran out of steam in midfield after the break.)

Rowe-Turner 5 (Started well enough but still failed to command the penalty box)

Kaebi 6 (Decent game until the last 25 minutes when Hinckley scored through his department and he started to get frustrated and lose his discipline).

Hellings 5 (Mixture of good and bad but still failed to take control of midfield as he needs to)

Howard 6 (Quite good at times until substituted by Lee Cox at half-time and replaced by King in midfield)

Odhiambo 6 (Deserved a goal for his far post header which was disallowed but was generally well marshalled)

Sappleton 6 (Tap in goal and a game enough contribution but failed to dominate)

Kee 6 (Clever assist and should have scored a header. But faded noticeably and was subbed)

Djiziri 6.25 (Unlucky not to have a couple of assists because he was probably the player Hinckley found hardest to deal with. Some sublime skill at times and one or two decent shots and crosses. The timing of his final ground passes let him down, as did his concentration and lack of determination sometimes to win the ball.)

Subs: Cox 5.5 (Couple of decent interceptions second half but had to share collective blame for failing to cope with Hinckley's increasingly confident forwards).

Luke O'Neill (I think) 5 (No notable effect).

*** Sorry the above is a bit sketchy. It was pouring with rain. Notes were pretty well impossible. Viewing wasn't that easy with everyone crammed together in the one ground level stand and the programme offered no numbers to go with the players names so I could only identify those I knew and wasn't inclined to hang around afterwards checking.

However, on tonight's showing, none of the players made any sort of serious case for first team selection.

Trac, do you believe Djiziri could become something good under the right management? I certainly do. And when is his loan due to expire? I'd like him at Leicester permenantly.

He's got some clever tricks that's for sure. And tonight he used them more effectively than he's done before.

The coaches are clearly getting more out of him than was apparent when he arrived. He's working harder, passing the ball more quickly and more willingly and starting to play a greater part in things - free kicks for instance and by having a shot or two.

That said I still don't think he attacks with enough pace and, most important of all, I'm not convinced he's brave enough.

At one time he didn't look to track back at all when he lost possession, which was regularly. But now he is making the attempt and he is turning up in different places and getting more of the ball.

He just doesn't seem to really commit himself when he tackles. I don't mean he should be reckless either. It's just a lack of real determination.

If the coaches can improve that aspect and get him using those skills at pace then perhaps the balance could change. But whether he can show enough in his time as a loanee and whether he's tough enough for English football, I have my doubts.

Maybe Djeziri has found his level?

lol

He might be alright, he's rated supposidly got bags of potential.

I believe his loan expires at the end of the season, and I believe the reason we have him is to have a look at him as one for the future, not play him in the first team.

His loan expires 31st of december according to wiki. I would'nt bet too much on him staying here when his loan expires, he could be playing in the reserves at his Danish side.

Suppose so, it's a little pointless him being here, the person he needs to impress hasn't even been employed yet.

Really fair assessment to keep the board in the know on the form of the players. Do they line up as a back 3 as the senior side ? I have never seen Kaebi other than his sub appearance in the Watford match but I would think he might suit a wing back? Have to say he is pretty small for a full back.

They lined up 4-4-2 but it was very flexible, often moving to 3-4-3 and 3-5-2.

Sadly I don't think Kaebi is defensively good enough as a wing back and our slow first team centre-backs would find themselves stretched trying to cover for him.

It's right midfield or nothing as far as I can see.

Do you think he has got the fitness - box to box for this role ? We don't need another defensive midfielder. I hope that Stuart Pearce will influence Mattock and bring him on defensively. Take the point though about his showing so far.

No. He is quick and he does look alert but he doesn't seem to have the strength to last the English pace. It's hardly surprising and it is something he might develop over time but I doubt he'll get that time or that he wants to take it.

He'll be back playing warm-weather football before long.
