SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 "December 1963 (Oh, What A Night)" Oh, what a night Late December back in sixty-three What a very special time for me As I remember what a night. Oh, what a night You know I didn't even know her name But I was never gonna be the same What a lady, what a night. Oh I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room Yeah my, as I recall it ended much too soon. Oh, what a night Hypnotizin', mesmerizing me She was ev'rything I dreamed she'd be Sweet surrender, what a night. I felt a rush like a rollin' ball of thunder Spinnin' my head around 'n' takin' my body under Oh what a night. Oh I, I got a funny feelin' when she walked in the room Yeah my, as I recall it ended much too soon. Oh what a night, why'd it take so long to see the light Seemed so wrong, but now it seems so right What a lady, what a night. Oh, I felt a rush like a rollin' ball of thunder Spinnin' my head around 'n' takin' my body under Oh what a night (do do do do do, do do do do do) Oh what a night (do do do do do, do do do do do) Oh what a night (do do do do do, do do do do do) Oh what a night (do do do do do, do do do do do).
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 You might have scored more goals. But ours had more character.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 You might have scored more goals. But ours had more character. What about 34 years of dissapointment for the best 10 minutes of your life
Sparky Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 What about 34 years of dissapointment for the best 10 minutes of your life was at that game mate , your fans knew how to party !!! had some great banter with them about the ashes etc , had my city shirt on and most asked about tiatto kisnorbo etc. they played a song in the streets "last train to sydney " or something similar . excellant day bought ticket from tout outside for face value 2 mins before kick off
Simi Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 Nice to see a bit of composure used by that linesman, would not surprise me to see an official panicking and giving that nowadays. I can only imagine what it would of felt like to be there that night, I can remember severely damaging my throat celebrating those goals! Quality.
Joe. Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 Definitely the greatest England performance I've seen in my lifetime. If only there was more like this...
Finnegan Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 What about 34 years of dissapointment for the best 10 minutes of your life I was watching that with my Japanese mate, surrounded by Aussie fans, in a pub in Wood Green. We were gutted.
AyewJoking Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 As an aside. What a goal this is I'd forgotten how brilliant that goal was!
Webbo Posted 21 November 2007 Posted 21 November 2007 As an aside. What a goal this is I was on a plane to Florida when that game was played. I think that's the first time I've seen that.

Yeah was a great night it was won of those nights were every one was watching even people who had never seen a football match as football isn't huge over here but cos of that match and the second leg quallifer against Uraguay to win the penalty shoot out, the game has grown 5000%. After that game didn't the Aussie team go in to the rooms then come back and celebrate as if they had one the world cup trurly was amazing and well worth the 34 years failures to quallify. Oh and yes we do know how to party
