Holloway the right man for the job?

That makes sense - a manager getting rid of players just for the sake of it, not because they aren't performing.

I didn't mention him getting rid of players (althought he'll surely have to offload a few) I am concerned about him buying bucketloads of players for the sake of it because he's never had such a wage budget to play with

Bidding for Barry Hayles hardly fills me with confidence!

Look, Ultra, I know you said Milan Madaric wasn't right for this club and so far he's done little to disprove that but the first thing you have to consider is the alternative, and that would be we'd have two or three fewer good players no depth at all and we'd be stuck in that situation because we'd have no money to buy anyone else next month, we'd also have no money to attract a decent manager and no decent prospects to make him want to manage Leicester either. At the time of selling we were pretty desperate we were clearly losing money and fast, Milans not had that long in charge, not by chairmans terms. We were begging for investment for months before he turned up, he still has time to turn this around, it took him a very long time at Portsmouth.

There are still prospects for the club, as there were twelve months ago - a massive fanbase and an emerging crop of talent from the academy. Yeah, we may have had to wheel and deal a little more had the takeover not gone through, but other clubs in our league with far fewer resources do that all the time. Mandaric's investment to date has enabled us to make a grand total of FOUR significant purchases - Nielsen, Kaebi, Clemence and Campbell. Have any of those purchases enhanced the overall quality of the squad? Look at the current league table for the answer.

Mandaric only narrowly escaped relegation at Pompey on several occasions prior to Harry Redknapp's arrival. With us, he may well not be as fortunate.

I know for some reason you have this theory in your head that someone else was just around the corner but sorry, I don't believe for a second that someone who had the same financial clout as Milan was interested in the club.

The range of contacts that I have (which I strongly suspect is slightly wider than yours) tell me that there were indeed other bids in preparation, but such was the pro-Mandaric hysteria in the media and on sites like this one that they never got a look in. There were certainly people with connections to the previous board whose personal wealth is way in excess of that of Mandaric. They could and should have been approached first.

The Martin Allen thing I agree was strange and I was as bemused and upset as you were when he first went and I was never that hot on the bloke to start off with. You can speculate to the reasons as much as you want, it's done, it was for non footballing reasons, and for some reason no football club has touched him since. Which I find very strange.

With the payoff he had, he may not have wanted to return to the game straightaway, especially if it would have meant uprooting his family again (apparently, his kids started at new schools on the day he was sacked). Sources have speculated on here and elsewhere as to why he left us, but no-one can pretend that it's brought about an improvement in results.

And Wortho was not dismissed was he, your making things up now, his contract was up.

It amounts to the same thing. Mandaric judged (for once, correctly) that an extension of Worthington's contract would not have been good for season-ticket sales - hence the arrival of Allen. Holloway apparently never even figured on the radar, either in May or September.

I do still apperciate that you said all wouldn't be rosey under Milan and you are yet to be proven wrong (as I'm not impossibly bitter, stuborn, and hellbent on being right all the time) but theres still time for it to be turned around, years more likely, so I'd stop sharpening your knives now.

I appreciate your willingness to be patient with him, but am not convinced that the majority of the fanbase would share that view. How many season tickets do you think we would sell if (when?) we're in League One?

Ollie knows whats wrong with the club..............no togetherness between the players. They don't get on. They have been that many changes there has been no backbone to the club. The days of Lennon<Savage,Izzet,Walsh,Claridge etc - thy all had a laugh - enjoyed each others company. The lot we have at the moment aren't buddies off the pitch, don't support each other and would rather point the finger than be in it together. Simple it's a teamgame, and we haven't got a TEAM.

Mandarcis money does pay the wages as well. And the Signing on fees, and everything else, pre buyout we couldn't scrape 100,000 to bing Joey Gudjonson back, we had to sell COG for 80,000 because we needed the money lol.

For one I think all this talk of League One is a little premature, hopefully this can be turned round into something resembling another mediocre season if the right desicions are made next month.

I still find this "other parties" story hard to swallow, the board essientially got ripped off by MM, if they had other options surely they should of pursued them even with the media storm mm whipped up.

And I know Allen has tried to get back into football he announced in the press he could get Swindon promoted.

I'm patient with him because I've got little choice and besides backing us with cash and I don't see what else he can do, the manager merry go round has been a bit of a piss take but it's not all been Milans fault.

I'm sick to death of the complete morons like YOU!!!! Who call for a managers head after a few games, it's because of people like you that this club will struggle to get out of the mess it's in. We need time and stability, a manager to come in and build a new team of his own men that want to play for him and this club. What we don't need is to change manager every 10 games because we haven't had an instant turn around.

A BLOODY MEN! have a mince pie for that as you deserve it!
