lildave3 Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 What on earth is your problem!? I thought the singing from L1 was great today and it made the game more enjoyable to me. We supported the team and atleast the Charlton fans could hear us, regardless of whether you could. Stop deriding the efforts of supporters who actually want to sing and support the side. I find it so insulting. Cock off. So the people at the back of the kop don't to sing and support the side? Bollocks. I also thought the Kop was pretty decent today, for the Kop's standard anyway. And given we only heard you once, mainly because of Jobbers drum, I wouldn't say it was too loud.
Simi Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I sat in The Kop last year and then moved to N Block when it was founded after having attended the meeting to set it up. I then resorted to L1 after N Block was shelved by the club and i really enjoy the atmosphere. What i find irritating is fans slating L1 when i see little vocal response from so-called ardent supporters in other areas of the stadium. I was impressed by the noise today and what i do not appreciate is goading from other fans about the vocal support from L1. Yes, I know you went to the meeting. I was there as well with you and Jamie and Andy. So don't think I'm one of the gimps that sits in the Kop, moaning about the atmosphere but does nothing about it. L1 is a good area to stand and sing but theres just a massive contrast to standing there first hand and hearing noise at other areas of the ground. I've got a lot of friends in L1 so I wouldn't just go around insulting it for the sake of it.
Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Cock off. So the people at the back of the kop don't to sing and support the side? Bollocks. I also thought the Kop was pretty decent today, for the Kop's standard anyway. And given we only heard you once, mainly because of Jobbers drum, I wouldn't say it was too loud. To be fair i sit in D2 in the kop and i heard them quite alot. I thought that it was pretty loud today both kop and L1. We need to keep this up.

I could not give a damn if you could hear us. L1 is not for your entertainment or amusement. Our second half support i thought was great. The Kop provides muted support. You may have been singing, but i cannot hear you or a handful of others out of 7500 fans. It is a wasted effort. You can occasionally hear The Kop, but rarely. I think you exaggerate how little you heard L1 as i thought compared to games this season, it was a very good effort.
Kilworthfox Posted 29 December 2007 Author Posted 29 December 2007 Quite frankly I find the attitude of some people in L1 just as insulting. The problem is Si that you are labled a poor voice in the crowd because you sit in the South Stand, Now I and others may know different as I know what you are like at the football ground, but don't take offence from comments as they are not aimed at you personally, as I too know the frustrations of sitting in a stand holding 7500 fans and only 2-3 percent of the people in it are actually singing non-stop at the top. The derogatory comments are aimed at the 97-98 percent of the South Stand who have a voice but have decided not too use it

Maybes Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Cock off. So the people at the back of the kop don't to sing and support the side? Bollocks. At least holloway can hear L1 so therefore the team can. Thats all L1 needs to achieve.

Hugo Sanchez Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I take it you sit quite close to the pitch? No row KK about 4 rows to the back.
foss1884 Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 I take it you sit quite close to the pitch? Take your headphones off. If i could hear The Kop today, you most certainly heard us.

We need to keep this up. Good man that's the attitude, I don't care who sits wher we have to get behind the team All 23000 of us not the same old faces who try to get us all to sing. Those who do start songs stop arguing just because you don't **** hold hands of the person you are arguing with. you should be pointing your fingers of the people below and around you when you are in full voice but they again stay silent!
foss1884 Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Yeah, I understand mate,I'm not having people question my vocal support to the team though, with comments such as "What i find irritating is fans slating L1 when i see little vocal response from so-called ardent supporters" Winds me right up. I am not slating anybody personally. This is about a comment directed at L1, not about any person in question.
Kilworthfox Posted 29 December 2007 Author Posted 29 December 2007 At least holloway can hear L1 so therefore the team can. Thats all L1 needs to achieve. Maybes enters the debate and says the only important thing!

I completely and utterly agree. For those at the back of The Kop i applaud you and to those around me in L1 and K Block i salute you.
lildave3 Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Take your headphones off. If i could hear The Kop today, you most certainly heard us. A. I couldn't hear L1 much at all. This doesn't mean they were quiet and hardly sang, it just means I hardly heard them. B. The statement i've higlighted is ludicrous quite frankly. Look at the size of the Kop, then L1.

The statement i've higlighted is ludicrous quite frankly. Look at the size of the Kop, then L1. The majority of L1 sings, a small portion of The Kop does. What you may find ludicrous, but indeed true, is that the numbers who generated the noise we heard today still pale the numbers who make noise in L1 and K Block. I offered an olive branch and again you are antagonising. Accept it as this, we made noise today, but you did not hear us. End of.
WetFlannel Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Why do we look at this as a competition between L1 and the Kop...
foss1884 Posted 29 December 2007 Posted 29 December 2007 Why do we look at this as a competition between L1 and the Kop... You are right, it is not. It is about supporting the players and manager. Today, i feel that was achieved.
Kilworthfox Posted 29 December 2007 Author Posted 29 December 2007 A. I couldn't hear L1 much at all. This doesn't mean they were quiet and hardly sang, it just means I hardly heard them.B. The statement i've higlighted is ludicrous quite frankly. Look at the size of the Kop, then L1. Thank you! I was waiting for someone to say it, lets have some facts: As a whole the supporters in L1 support the team more consistantly than in the South Stand. The South Stand holds 7500 supporters L1 and K hold what 1000 max? (not a fact, but a informed of sorts guess) These 2 areas of the stadium are where atmosphere is supposed to be The whole of L1 & K sings and stands constantly or mostly (1000 fans ish) The top of the South Stand sings and stands constantly or mostly (100 - 150 fans) If the whole of the South Stand were to sing they would be over 7 times louder than the L1 and K blocks put together! Only problem is that the south Stand does not Sing together, it as a whole very rarely ever sings together, possibly Fulham home 2v2? L1 & K is constant in its support, no one is denying that, and no one is denying that those who try to motivate those in the South Stand week in week out are doing there best, in a thank-less task. The issue is not with fans who are supporting 100% all the time at every game! Its with the ones who are generally in the bottom and middle of the South Stand who want atmosphere but don't wish to create it. These people have come from where exactly? I don't know but they have killed (almost) the spirits of the fans who used to sit there (like me & others) who decided to move to various places at Filbert Way until we eventually found L1 or K block and now sing together. Those who still occupy seats in the South Stand can try to get those people below you to sing as I and many others have tried to do, but I will save you your time! They will not do it! Not like you and I want them to (all game)! So you will eventually like I and others did give up and move to L1 or other place i.e N block. Its inevitable. However If N started again for the next match I would not move now I have been in L1.

However If N started again for the next match I would not move now I have been in L1. I agree completely. I made the switch from The Kop this year and i have never looked back. I was a singer at the back of The Kop last year and then i defected. It is a wasted effort! I wanted to make more of a difference, so i moved to where the biggest concentration of singers were to have a more meaningful impact.

But my original 'L1, pah!' post was more to do with the fact that I thought the kop was quite loud for parts of the game today. Not to antagonise L1'ers.
