I agree completely. I made the switch from The Kop this year and i have never looked back. I was a singer at the back of The Kop last year and then i defected. It is a wasted effort! I wanted to make more of a difference, so i moved to where the biggest concentration of singers were to have a more meaningful impact.

spot on! same here! I used to try to defend the South Stand as the Kop, but it just is nothing like it. I am tired of having to write about the quiet ones in there, The young lads at the top will realise and move when thay get as fed up with them as we were the day we left.

You can move to K, its just the same, maybe you don't get to look the opposition fans in the eye with the banter but that's it. Get yourself over and decide if its for you, I wish I had done a long time before I did.

What can i not ask a question and thanks Kilworth for replying

You can, but it's just been asked so many times, you'd think you would know by now.

Good, because I don't know why I wasted my time with you, go back to your 1 line posts that are often pointless.

I don't think I'll move to L1, simply because there is no room in there.

When some new initiatives come forward in the near future we shall see where we go from there.

Just my "hunch" but i know that the row in front of me has different faces in it from week to week. There is a possibility that come next year the season ticket spots will come up for grabs again and you can come over come August

What new initiatives are you aware of? The one major change that the club could orchestrate that would have a significant impact is switching The Kop with the Family Stand and that will never happen as it would be logistically impractical-atleast they will argue that. I remember canvassing for support when the survey was done and the "grey brigade" that have infiltrated The Kop were against the idea as the sun would be in their eyes come better weather! Ridiculous! The reason why so many fans congregate in The Kop is that is where the bulk of supporters are-atleast that is the perception. They just do not wish to contribute to any singing, yet want to sample an atmosphere. What many fans are naive about is that it actually takes fans to make an atmosphere, it does not exist in its own right. Fans need to play more of a role.

Andy, Jamie and myself are currently in contact with the club and are looking at a couple of things in the near future.

I agree with you when you say about people coming to "sample an atmosphere" this became a quite frequent problem in N Block towards the end of last season which was very frustrating. But it happens sadly.

i was in L1 last season but moved back to the kop this season , thought the atmosphere was ok in L1 was ok and the range of songs better than in the kop but i just cant stand being surrounded by 15 year old kids dressed from head to toe in burburry making absolute wank3ers of themselves , i was embarrased for them , trying to offer out the whole away end when they couldnt fight their way out of a paper bag :frusty:

Oh good - another thread degenerating into a 'my section is better than your section'.

I don't care where anyone sat, it was the second home game on the trot where the crowd put in a decent effort - well done everyone. My voice has caved in now, where's the gin?

If the club are serious, the only real option is moving The Kop. That would see a real improvement in the atmosphere and rebrand the South Stand into two halves-a Family Section and a Members Section. I will put money on the fact that many so-called Kopites will opt for a Members Enclosure rather than migrate and then it will offer a bigger congregation of vocal fans in the North Stand. Wishful thinking though. I have petitioned the club and that has proved fruitless. I even thought about a banner.

There will be some StandupSitDown banners coming around soon.
