If only (how many times have you read that) Ollie had put in a combined Norris/Hayles bid in the first place we could have been spared all this saga. Have heard that Ipswich have offered to pay Boltons share seperately so Argyle get to keep all the 1.5 milliion with Bolton getting 750k total fee 2.25 mill. Personally I shall be glad when it is all over. We have already signed Hungarian International midfielder Gygorgy Sandor (arranged by Buzsakys Dad!) as a possible replacement, have not seen him play yet as he is injured!

IPSWICH have finally landed midfielder David Norris, 26, after PLYMOUTH accepted a £2.4m fee.

Boss Jim Magilton had two offers turned down but has beaten off a late bid from Leicester to complete the deal.

The Tractor Boys also signed Macedonia midfielder Velice Sumulikoski, 26, from Turkish side Bursaspor for an undisclosed fee.

NORRIS TO JOIN IPSWICH

07:30 - 31 January 2008

Star Plymouth Argyle midfielder David Norris will join Championship rivals Ipswich Town today for a club record fee of £2 million.

Norris, whose family live in East Anglia, has been waiting for months for the deal to be finalised.

The transfer was finally agreed yesterday with Norris set to have a medical and discuss personal terms this morning before being unveiled at a Press conference this afternoon.

Norris' transfer beats Argyle's previous record of £1.75m for the sale of striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake when he moved to Wolves earlier this month.

The move had been hampered by a sell-on clause with Premiership club Bolton Wanderers, from where Argyle bought Norris.

Under the terms of the original agreement, Argyle would have had to pay 50 per cent to Wanderers if they sold Norris on to another club.

But Ipswich, who have close links with Bolton, have brokered a deal with Wanderers which will involve the Lancashire club getting less than the 50 per cent.
