MC Prussian Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 ... for once I'd like to hear some news from the other side of the transfer front. When are we finally getting rid of some of that useless player material that we have at the moment? DeVries - remain out as a loanee, could provide some back-up if needed Kishishev - stay where you are Douglas - GK coach or join a lower league team, please Nielsen - back in Denmark? Kaebi - hear-say signing, the German Bundesliga does fit your style of play way better Cort - some other club can have him Hammond - loanee or let another club have him (League One food, at best) Maybury - still here??? Hellings - ship back to the Netherlands Newton - same as Cort Djeziri - see Nielsen OUT!!!

Hellings is young and has done ok in the reserves from what i can gather give him a chance. Kishishev should be at this club, he is a quality player and a leader no idea why he is out on loan. The rest i agree with apart from Cort who i think at full fitness will do a good job for us (but he needs to be rested until fully fit!!) the rest i agree with.
The Stig Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Get players in first, then I'm sure Ollie and Milan will take out the trash later.
Daggers Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 I'd like official confirmation of the 8 people that have gone. As I suspect they haven't and won't.

Daggers Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 NielsenKaebi Cort Maybury Helling Newton I'm sure that Rab is the only one that has been paid off though mate - whereas I fear the bunch above will be returning to the training ground unless a team comes in for them. I can see how we can pay off players, but I don't think we are able to simply restrict their access to the club facilities.

They've not been paid off - but they aren't at the training ground anymore - which is why Ollie is talking about getting rid of the negative energies etc etc..
Daggers Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 They've not been paid off - but they aren't at the training ground anymore - which is why Ollie is talking about getting rid of the negative energies etc etc.. Surely that counts as a restriction on their ability to perform their duties and would mean constructive dismissal - enabling them to recoup the full value of the contract plus damages? All in all, ending up more expensive than paying them up in full to begin with. Where's a law student when you need one?
Benji Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Surely that counts as a restriction on their ability to perform their duties and would mean constructive dismissal - enabling them to recoup the full value of the contract plus damages? All in all, ending up more expensive than paying them up in full to begin with.Where's a law student when you need one? watching Monty Python I think there will be one of few things: a) a clause in contract saying that there is no guarentee of training with the first team b) even if they could sue for what they expected under the playing contract, there wouldn't really be any damages. Its not like the club are forcing him to work while unhappy. He could be unhappy but is being paid for doing nothing To be constructively dismissed there has to be a severe reason to quit, being asked to sit at home and take your pay check to me isn't a reason to quit... Either way it would never reach the suing stage, they'd settle it between them... Another stab in the dark... can footballer's not be made redundant like everyday employees? He'll sit at home and be paid until a) someone else pays his wages b) we pay him off
wirralsimon Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Another stab in the dark... can footballer's not be made redundant like everyday employees? Nobody can be made redundant and immediately replaced by someone in a similar role - that's called dismissal. The only way they could be made redundant was if the club was being wound up. I am pretty sure there are football league rules that would make it impossible to cancel their contracts. I remember a Scottish club tried to do it a few years ago when they had a severe cash crisis but I am not sure what the outcome was. Simon
