Ash Posted 4 January 2008 Posted 4 January 2008 No, I think Mattock has bags of potential to be a great player! I suppose weve gotta achieve more to keep these kind of players......

Dames Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Funny how people were ranting and raving when he broke into the first team and now nearly everyone is calling him shit. He's 17 and been thrown right in at the deep end, Not many 17 year olds would be an instant hit with the instability we've had at the club. He's got a good future ahead of him and he's worth hanging onto and developing because he can easily become a very good player.
pillgrim1 Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 Yes, if they were to bid that based on his current form though I'd wait until he rediscovered his form. What happened to Plymouth not selling the players? 1.5 million for a 17 year old who could really go either way good business iwould say
pillgrim1 Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 1.5 million for a 17 year old who could really go either way good business iwould say 1.5 million for a club with no money think about it good business i would say
Matt Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I'd like to change my statement. I'd accept £1.5m for our whole team. Just letting the wind blow the ball about would be more effective than this crock of shit.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 5 January 2008 Posted 5 January 2008 I love it how people say Stearman was twice the player at the same age as Mattock is now. Look back and Stearman made a handful of appearances when he was 17. It wasn't until he turned 18 that he started playing regularly and really impressing. Stearman had no-where near the same amount of responsibility on his shoulders at 17 as Mattock has. Mattock's been put in an unfair position in my opinion. He's had to share the responsibility of playing at left back for the first team with another lad who's only early 20s himself with very little first team experience between them. What does that say about Sheehan too? A lad who's 3 or 4 years younger has been given an equal share of playing on the left hand side of the first team by various managers over the course of the season. I've said it before, it's a crime that we haven't brought in an experienced left back for them both to learn from! Let's see how Mattock does next season for us when he's 18 and has already had a full season of first team experience under his belt. You never know, he might even have a proper left sided midfield playing infront of him by then!
