irememberwellerstights Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 At least they don't call them after cars, or kettles... (Austin Healey / Russell Hobbs) Are we sure^^
Bryn Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 You do realise that names like Davidson, Jackson etc. came about in exactly the same way, right? Like in LotR where they go "Gimli, son of whoever" that sorta thing, that used to happen as well. And then names in Ireland like O'Reilly mean Grandson of Reilly I think?
danny. Posted 8 January 2008 Posted 8 January 2008 Mac, as in MacDonald, McLeod etc. means son of... as does "Bin" and "Ben", as in Bin Laden, or Benjamin which means "Son of Jamin" it's pretty common really
