misterboj Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 Do you all truly believe theres no chance we will get him at man city? I beg to differ.
King Kyle lcfc Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 Not a big enough club your just a mid table or lower prem side going no were he had that at leicester cept u've gotta bigger stadium and a few more arrogant players
Frenzied Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 The only reason he left Leicester is because Celtic has been his team since he was a kid. Can't see him joining anyone unless he's sacked from there or gets bored of the job, which I doubt will happen until he finally realises Celtic are going to win nothing in Europe. And then it would have to be one of the biggest clubs - sorry mate but manure maybe?
Anish Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 I honestly don't think O'Neill would lower his standards to manage Man City.
Oli Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 I think they have a slight chance. And I hope he does go to them, instead of staying at the scum!!!
Solihullfox Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 Do you all truly believe theres no chance we will get him at man city? I beg to differ. 77392 Sorry misread that for a second - thought it said Man United. That's because it's where God will go when he leaves Celtic.
Who ate all the pies? Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 why would MON leave a team that is guaranteed a champions league place for Man city who can't aren't even getting into europe? It makes no sense! He'll go to Man utd or somewhere that will give him money so he can mount a serious challenge for the Premiership and then Europe...no offence but Man City aren't going to be able to do that for quite a while!

misterboj Posted 11 March 2005 Author Posted 11 March 2005 Evidence. He will have potentially 30million to spend if we sell swp, 48000 people bringing the roof off, he's on a 6 month rolling contract and wants to manage in England (hence the contract). Its the biggest job expexted to be available in the foreseeable future and along with Newcastle we are the biggest club most starved of success in the last 30 tears. I think some of you will be eating your hats come the summer. And by the way he will NEVER get the Munich job.
misterboj Posted 11 March 2005 Author Posted 11 March 2005 O'Neill angrily denies City link CELTIC manager Martin O'Neill has angrily dismissed speculation linking him with the vacancy at Manchester City. The Hoops' boss has been installed as one of the favourites to take over at the City of Manchester Stadium after Kevin Keegan left the club. But the Hoops' boss insists he has no intention of leaving the Glasgow giants where his focus is purely on the retention of the Scottish domestic double. O'Neill said: "You are talking to the longest-serving manager in the SPL. "Why would you ask me about this job at this stage of the season when you know we have some important games coming up? "I have answered the question, I am here and I would imagine that I will be here next week and the week after that. "Who knows? At one stage, you will ask me and I might have some different news for you. "I have been asked this question umpteen times over a period of years and now I am sitting here being asked the same old questions. "At some stage, if results don't go well, you will be sitting here with someone else. "I think the fans realise that I am still here at the football club. "I have been asked whether I will be leaving this football club every single day since I have been here and I'm still here and I am very pleased to be here. "I don't think this has any affect on the dressing room, I just think this is journalistic spiel." Imagine being a celtic fan. You would think your manager was about to leave for man city.

You would think your manager was about to leave for man city. 77427 He used to spout similar stuff when he was at LCFC but still tried to go to Leeds and Celtic. Notice he only talks about weeks not months or years, it is a common ploy of his to use the fact that he might get sacked to enable him to say that he might not be there next week. He never says out right I'm staying. He has an excellent command of the English language which he manipulates to the full in order to keep fans and clubs panting for his services. Bloody good manager though.
misterboj Posted 11 March 2005 Author Posted 11 March 2005 Hes coming. I can feel it. Im listening 2 a phone in now where the lyon manager Paul le guen is saying similar sort of stuff. Leaving at the end of the season, wants to come to england etc. Hes got some cv.

You know there an awful lot of other 'sleeping giants' with similar fanbases- Villa, Spurs and Everton spring straight to mind.

Countless trophies for Celtic, 2 for Leicester. He's turned some distinctly average players into great players, he has excellent man-management skills and his motivational skills are superb. Who had even heard of Arsene WEnger before he got the Arsenal job, and what had he achieved in comparison to O'Neill?

I am not syaing he is not a great manger just that he has a lot to proove before he gets ajob that big and he may have to make another move as a stepping stone in order to do so. As for Wenger at arsenal, he was a personal friend of David Dein's and Arsenal are nowhere near as big as Man U!
step Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 Plan 3 It aint time for MON to leave celtic. CL has to get experiance in the premiership first. Then in a few years time, fergy will retire, MON will take over manure and CL will move back to scotland taking over celtic. Plan 2 Then we have the Keown plan, when sven had carried out his last indicretion and looked like he was going to be sacked. The FA moved very quickly to get Keown into city, so he could take over from MA, allowing MA to leave city for everton because David Moyes was getting ready to take over the england job, if Sven got the sack. Plan 1 Just like when PT was at city and he assisted sven with england, the plan was for PT to gain experiance and if he was good enough he was to take over england when sven moved on. It all a conspirecy, with clubs and managers manuvering to progress their carriers Which is quiet normal in all business, the only problem is that we tend to suffer and picking up the pieces.
Nationwider Posted 11 March 2005 Posted 11 March 2005 You have about a 1/100000 chance 77393 I'd say the chances are even less than that. I agree that it isn't a foregone conclusion that he'll go to ManYoo either. I think Ferguson wouldn't mind him taking over in a couple of years but I'm not sure he'd be high-profile enough for the money-men at Trafford Park. I'm guessing that England or Newcastle will be the next stop for him.
