The reason i ask is because i was talking to my mate who said he would rather score a hat trick and lose i couldnt believe it i would rather have the three points and not score what would you rather do?

Thracian Posted 14 January 2008 Posted 14 January 2008 Depends on the situation. The expected answer would be to take the win - team comes first etc. But the truth might well be different. If you were a striker who hadn't scored for a while you'd be desperate for goals if for no other reason than to keep your job. If the team was mid table and promotion/relegation were out of the question you might well not want to sacrifice the hat-trick for the three points. You might imagine you would but I doubt it - not if goals were your livelihood.
