Matt Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 lcfc.com Oakley Enjoying Foxes LifePosted on: Sun 20 Jan 2008 Matt Oakley believes there is a "new-found excitement" around Leicester City. The combative central midfielder has only been at the club just over a week after moving from Midlands rivals Derby prior to the Coventry City match at the Walkers Stadium. But he has played an instrumental part in City's four point return out of a possible six and he is delighted to have made the move down the road. The former Derby man said: "It's been a whirlwind week or so and my move might have come as a shock to some people but that's in the past now and I am enjoying myself here at Leicester City. "I like what I see, I like working here and the manager and his staff make coming to work enjoyable. "We just need to now reward them and the fans with some wins but a win and a gritty draw isn't a bad return from the last two matches. "There is a real new-found excitement around the place and everyone can see what Ollie is trying to achieve here." Oakley helped the Foxes grind out a point at Carrow Road on Saturday and he was delighted that his side stood firm. He added: "Last week against Coventry was a good performance and the fans got to see a couple of goals but I think they appreciated our efforts against Norwich as well, even though it was a totally different game. "It wasn't pretty and maybe we should have been beaten but that's the luck you need from time to time. "We now have a week or so before our next game and that should be interesting. "Crystal Palace are a team in form but will go in to the match in confident mood after two good results."
Thracian Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 You know exactly what you get with Oakley. He got clattered fairly early on yesterday yet still completed his shift and stood there to be counted. He's a key signing to me, the best or the season apart from getting Fulop on loan. I'm quite sure too that he can be a catalyst for our revival but we need others like him, not occasional or bit part performers.
DB11 Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 He's not going to come out and say anything else is he?
Koke Posted 20 January 2008 Posted 20 January 2008 I like Oakley. What you got here is an honest hard-working player who wants the best for the team. Even on a bad day, he'll still work his socks off. Potentially he's the best signing we've made this season and he'll be a key player for us in this season and the next one.

Is a very good Championship midfielder. Will no doubt bring out the best in Clemence aswell (who I thought was a top signing for you lot). Seems to me as if you have a very good central midfield. Who knows, with the potential signing of Darren Moore, you'll have a promotion winning spine to your side
