Kanye deserves respect for how he thinks outside the box though. http://videos.onsmash.com/v/nHNiVRx819feqU56 Edit: For anoyone whos confused when they watch it, im of the belief its one of three parts
Joe. Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 I don't think it's one of the best off Graduation to be honest. I prefer most of the others really.
Micky Ruddle Posted 14 February 2008 Posted 14 February 2008 Quality tune. One of my favourites off his album

Jordan Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Kanye is one of the best, if not the best, producer and beat-crafter in popular hip-hop, but it's a shame that he's an awful rapper. "Flashing Lights" illustrates this perfectly.

"Flashing Lights" illustrates this perfectly. Yeah he is one of the better mainstream producers, but some of his darker production i think outweighs his newer mainstream sound. But lyrically hes not brilliant, although he has a knack of saying clever lines here and there.

MikeyT Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 How come ? I just hate that type of "music". To me its not talented at all!! To me the people who spend time learning to play instruments and learning how to arrange songs are the ones who deserve the credit. I dont like music where you press a friggin button and it does it all for you. Music has gone down the toilet in the last decade, with all the manufactured crap thats about. Basically all this music is someone pressing a button for the beat and some guy who looks like a "gangsta" talking down a microphone. Thats not talent!! And its crap like that, that stops people with real talent out there getting noticed and getting their music out. Obviously its the people who buy this stuff nowadys as well who have no idea what real music is! No offence!

You do realise that a lot of HipHops most talented producers such as Kanye West use live bands and piece music together, so those live bands will get there due credit ? Also Kanye West doesn't really do "gangster" rap, but i suppose if you'd taken the chance to really sit down and listen to his music you'd of already knew this. Also listen to a lot of rappers such Nas, Jay-z, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Rakim, Common, Rhymefest etc, and you'll soon realise that the lyrical content and execution they put into practise is far more than just "talking down a microphone". So basically calling a music genre that may not interest you or give you enjoyment "Talentless" is just plain ignorant. Edit: Some examples: http://youtube.com/watch?v=a-ZhIgJbsuY - Kanye West & Timbaland - Dj Premier

It's as much, if not more, of a talent than other other artists have.
Joe. Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 You can hardly argue against Kanye West when you see his success. He obviously has a talent or else nobody would buy his records...

I just dont agree with you.

MikeyT Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Didn't think you'd have arguments against the points i raised. Why are you getting so wound up about it! You seem to be taking my opinions very personally!! Its not a case of having an arguement. I dont like hip hop/rap. I personally think its a load of garbage. End of. Get over it! Plus im not arguing with a 17 year old child!
lildave3 Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Just because you don't like him, you can't call him talentless. I think that's what the deal is.

Its not that i dont like him, i dont like any form of hip hop/rap. Lyrically speaking im sure hes great, but the whole concept of that type of music TO ME, is that it doesnt take alot of talent to be able to do it! But i appreciate anyone who does like this style of music. Its just not for me!

BigGibbo Posted 19 February 2008 Posted 19 February 2008 Shite song by an artist who's rapidly starting to bore me! I liked his first two albums though.
