Floating Fox Posted 25 November 2008 Posted 25 November 2008 I loved the after-game celebration, and got to shake Frankie Hejduk's hands when he came up the stairs to do a little meet-and-greet with the loyal one thousand that made their way to the West Coast. Then the rumour spread the club would host a little celebration, so I met up with Placidcasual at the Marriott in Manhattan Beach. Can't beat free food and free drinks. All in all, an exquisit day out. I can't believe the Americans have got it better than us. What has it come to. Anyway, sounds like you had a quality time, I'd deffo try to do the same as you if I was out there! Out of interest why was the final held in California?

Oh and it's a lot warmer in California at this time of year than it is on the East Coast. It was 20F when I left my house Saturday morning. 80F when I got to CA.

Play-offs to win the league are gay anyway.

Some teams still share their ground with NFL teams. Play-offs to win the league are gay anyway. Meh. You get used to it. Best team in the regular season won the cup anyway so no problem....

Traditionally expansion teams are not very good. San Jose were ok the second part of the season and Toronto have been crap for 2 straight years. Better support? Who knows.

Oh yeah - probably most of the Crew showed up, but that's my assumption as I only know a few of them by name. Hejduk, Schelotto, Padula, Rogers, Hesmer, Moreno... You name it... All the guys I got to talk to were really friendly and approachable. It's their way of saying thank you to the loyal fanbase that travelled all the way down to LA.

Has been the best player in the league by a long way. Best passer. Best set piece taker. Humble guy as well. Won 15 titles with Boca Juniors in Argentina before joining Columbus.
