Tabou Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Just seen on BBC news that Stoke are hoping to tie up a loan deal for Fulop. Is anybody else mildly annoyed by the fact that they recalled him from our good selves, only to farm him out again to a different club 2/3 months later? JEEEEZ
WetFlannel Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Darn that twat Keane. At least Stoke probably can't afford future fee, unless they get to the premiership.
Fox in a Box Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 SORT IT OUT LEICESTER CITY... bloody eck as like. Fulop set for Stoke loan switch Martin Fulop Sunderland boss Roy Keane has confirmed that goalkeeper Marton Fulop is in talks with Stoke City over a loan-move to the Britannia Stadium. With Darren Ward back from injury Keane feels it would benefit both parties for Fulop to be playing regular football. "I have a gentleman's agreement with Marton that if a club comes in that suited everybody we'd let him go," he told BBC Radio Newcastle. "I think it's a good move for him in terms of getting games under his belt." Fulop, 24, has already enjoyed a loan spell at Leicester this season but has struggled to break into the first-team at the Stadium of Light. Keane is sympathetic to the pressure this has placed on his international prospects. "Marton played an international match two weeks ago and has been told by his manager in no uncertain terms that he needs to be playing games," he said. "We think that it is probably a good deal."
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 It's annoying, but to be fair Sunderland have needed him as back-up recently and we couldn't wait for Ward to become fit again before we got another goalie in.
Samilktray Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Why are people still bothered about a player who isn't here any more ? Alnwick is a perfectly reliable replacement any way.

Thats how I see it too. Still praying for us to land him permanently in the summer, he is such a class goalie. But if Stoke gets promoted, and Fulop impress them like he has impressed us than we might lose out for good.....

I think you're being a bit TOO fair on Sunderland Ric. They bought him back because they thought they could make some money off of us, now they're realising that no-one will pay the ridiculous fee that they were asking they're loaning him back out to get him off the wage bill... Not that I'm at all cynical....

I think it once again shows the measure of Keane as a person. His attitude is **** the player's career, it's all about me. He was prepared to recall Fulop a 3rd choice keeper and price him out of a move, rather than let the lad move on to get first team football. Fulop clearly did not want to move for money nor a bigger club, just to play football. I always believe a manager should look out for his players.
Ric Flair Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 Not fancying Stoke away last game of the season now when we need a win to stay up.
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 He will never love the Potter's like he loves Leicester!!!
lookwhaticando Posted 22 February 2008 Posted 22 February 2008 There's a topic for this in General Sport where it's more appropriate at this time. Let's not dwell on another ex-player.
