Paul Ince Linked Again

Perhaps this is due to the fact that Ince wants to move upwards, and his agent is linking him with shaking looking manager's jobs. So if we did get him in he would off as soon as something a little bit better came along. Not what we need.

But that would be the case for any half successful manager and who could blame them.

However if any manager can get LCFC into the Premier there's not many clubs he could go to that would provide a higher profile and if they did it would mean they've been spectacularly successful ala MON, I'd accept that as the price a club like LCFC pays for success.

And if MON had left for the first club that came in? Was it Leeds? Everton? I forget. We might look at it differently.

Both. You make a valid point.

He doesn't convince (OLE!) me fully just yet as there is no way MK Dons should be anything other than top of League Two but they play good football etc etc.

Surely Wolves manager in waiting though.

you're right we would, but he didn't, he turned Leeds down, who knows had Little stayed maybe he'd of done what O'Neill did, but we'll never know will we.

as for Ince, seems to play decent football at MKDons, but do we really want another influx from there lot whinging about us poaching their manager?

He's already turned us down once. But it seems he may be ready to move up soon, although I doubt it will be here.

did we actually approach him? we were linked but I don't think we ever approached MK for permission

We'll never know but it doesn't alter the fact that a successful manager at LCFC will likely lead to their moving on although I do believe, with the influx of foreign managers that it's actually less likely these days unless as I said the success achieved was spectacular - I'd still settle for it.

We got bumped off by him, trust me.

I said last time I wanted a Grayson-Little partnership and I still think that would of been best as they knew the club, liked a good style of football and would of had the fans behind them, where as every appointment Milan has made has had the fans split

Agreed. Successful managers will always move on, but with Ince it just looks like he isn't the type to actually demand of himself that he achieve anything first.

You don't think Liittle would have had the fans split :dunno:

The fans had their say - and rejected the best man for the job in the process.

I'm not convinced about employing Little in any capacity but I hope to God no one listens to the fans opinion anymore!

They are idiots.

not if he were only in a DoF or assistant role no

I detect a note of delusion then because there are many fans who would be outraged if he returned, I'm not one but you only have to visit various forums to detect that.

No he didn't.

There is a difference between what was portrayed on television and what actually happened.

I guess it depends on who you believe, but I can't imagine Warnock admitting we turned him down. :dunno: But I'm not in the know that many people seem to be in.

He was interviewed in April, he was MM's prefered candidate for the job until representations from supporters organisations told him that there would be war on the terraces if the appointment went through. having sounded out further opinions, MM reluctantly decided to continue the search for a candidate.

This was all prior to this season's public, televised "rejection" to a job offer that had not taken place.

I find that very hard to believe. Sheffield United still had a very good chance of staying up in April - and he was being interviewed for our job at the time?? I don't buy that at all.
