Walker 7 - Good penalty save, didn't have to do much else, well positioned.

Kenton 6 - Solid performance, some good tackles.

McCarthy 7 - Looked dodgy position-wise in the first half, but made up for it with some good challenges, our best defender.

Dabizas 6 - Usual slow self. Defence looked shaky without Dublin.

Maybury 5 - Un-noticeable for most the game, didnt get up enough.

Gillespie 6 - Good runs again, bad final pass/cross again.

Gudjonsson 6 - Gave the ball away far too often, some good challenges.

Hughes 7 - Best midfielder, gave 110%, some very good runs and passes.

Tiatto 4 - Did nothing useful at all, passes were crap to say the least.

Connolly 7 - Did well first half, lot more quieter in the second half. David - you are not a winger!

Dublin 8 - MOTM, great target man - exactly what weve been missing, helped defensively a lot, was always his head that cleared corners away.

De Vries 4 - Similar to Scowcroft except that Scowcroft can actually win the ball in the air. I would rather have Scowy in the team than this donkey.

Williams 6 - Performed quite well when he was on, would have preferred to see him start.

Stewart 5 - Made one excellent attacking run, then dislocated his shoulder!

Walker - 7 - good penalty save, it was a poor penalty but you still have to save them, not at fault for either goal IMO and got most balls into the box (only problem one being when McCarthy headed it out of his hand and Walker went flying...I guess he didn't shout loud enough!)

Kenton - 6 - ball watching for their first goal and gave away possession a little too much but generally ok.

Dabizas - 6 - unlucky to get sent off, had one mad moment but otherwise was solid.

McCarthy - 7 - first time I've seen him and I was very impressed, he made a few very minor mistakes and probably should have done better for their first goal but otherwise we look to have gotten a bargain, its amazing to think he has hardly played any first-team football.

Maybury - 5 - I don't like him on the left, he doesn't get forward like he does on the right and therefore doesn't for fill his potential... he also let them get the cross in or past him too many times.

Gillespie - 7 - superb goal, probably a bit flukey though :P Some of his crosses weren’t as good as they could have been but he also got around a defender once or twice and put some good balls in.

Gudjonsson - 6 - played a few good balls but also gave it away a bit, probably a bit tired like all of them, kept his shot lower than usual!

Hughes - 8 - MOTM - took a pretty bad corner in the first half... but otherwise was fantastic! IMO Levein's best signing so far. He ran forward properly and didn't just flirt with the idea of attacking like Williams sometimes does, but actually got himself into the box so much it was almost like having a 3rd striker. He played some good balls about but also wasn't afraid to get stuck in and ran his socks off! He was quieter towards the end, but only because of tiredness. I understand his fitness is an issue after not playing many games for Rangers but I think he should be starting every game. He made a great goal-line clearance to keep us in it too.

Tiatto - 5 - another poor game from Danny, he was carrying a hamstring injury, and he's played quite a lot in this congested period of games so that might account for it but we had no threat on the left as usual with him, he cut inside a lot but only seemed to win the ball by taking the man as well. I really admire his commitment but he's been having a few poor games recently and will probably benefit from the rest.

Connolly - 6 - took the penalty well and looked lively at the start but still drifts wide too much (especially on the left where no-one else was doing anything....) when he should be in the box...didn't get the best of service still though.

Dublin - 6 - had a few nice touches and its great to see someone up front actually winning headers, but he still thinks he's quicker than he is and a few of his touches, while showing quality, he couldn't expand upon because the ball had already been nicked from him, improved from earlier in the season when he played up front.

Subs:

Williams - 5 - Anonymous mostly and seemed to find it hard to get into the game.

Stewart - 6 - Had a great run down the left after he came on and held the ball up at the corner flat (with no support), something we didn't manage all night (or in other recent matches) especially on that side of the pitch, the injury is a big blow to us IMO and he will be missed, I hope it turns out to be less serious than it looked... :(

de Vries - 5 - had a few nice touches, but he's still a bit hit-and-miss with me. He'll receive the ball, keep it at his feet, turn well then hit a bad ball in or bounce it off the defender's legs. I think I saw him head the ball though...or was I dreaming? I think it was defensively though...

Walker - 7 - Mainly for the penalty save. His kicking wasn't great last night, but he is still the best keeper in this league

Kenton - 6 - Should have been tighter on Sheringham for the first goal in my opinion. He had ample time to watch Sheringham make his run. Admittedly, it was the perfect ball by Harewood, but Kenton didn't make it tough enough for Sheringham. I think Kenton is decent, but not sure what he adds to our team. Would still like to see Canero given a go.

Dabizas - 6.5 - Battled hard. His handball got us a point, and he has been playing better recently. Still would like to see him replaced in the summer.

Paddy - 6.5 - Doesn't look too shady either. Would like to see more of him, but looks a solid player, not afraid to jump in front of the ball or dive into a tackle

Maybury - 5.5 - Not his best game last night. I don't think the left side his best position (but with Jordan's injury he'll be playing there more) particularly against good quick wingers. Harewood had the run of the left flank last night

Gillespie - 7 - What an awesome goal. Couldn't have hit it any better. Was also impressed with the way he tracked back and helped out Kenton when defending. Gillespie has improved no-end, and is now putting in week-in week-out good performances

Gudjonsson - 5.5 - I may be marking him too harsh as he does put himself about and gets stuck in continously, but his passing last night was terrible (could be he was tired). Think he needs to work on his distribution a lot more, as he does lose the ball in dangerous positions (e.g. their second goal)

Hughes - 6.5 - Good player, never really got going in the 2nd half. Think he will be good and provide creative spark

Tiatto - 5 - Lots of energy, but sadly lacking in any decent quality last night. I think he has been carrying an injury for the last few games, which explains his recent blip in form but shows his desire to play and fight for us. His effort can never be faulted.

Dublin - 6.5 - Did ok for us, putting himself about, but think he was showing his tiredness from 3 games in 6 days.

Connolly - 7 - Ran hard and did well. He was up against two very good centre-backs last night, but did enough to show he will be crucal for us in the relegation fight.

Subs

Williams - 5.5 - Anonymous, but to be fair, he came on when the entire team was asleep and our midfield was being overrun. There was not a whole lot he could do.

De Vries - 5 - No real service up to the front men by the time he came on so never had a chance to show what he could do. Although I'm not really sure what he can do

Stewart - 6 - Looked good when he came on. I think our left side needs him on the overlap (despite what his critics think). I wish him well and hope the injury is not serious

Walker - 6.5 (would have been a 6 were it not for the penalty save, had no chance with the 2nd goal as it was deflected quite wickedly IMO, noticed him coming out for the ball from a corner and didnt get near it =/ great keeper, but looked a bit iffy in patches of late..)

Kenton - 6 (his marking could have been better for their first goal, but I thought there was a hint of offside there when the ball was delivered in.. Kenton seems ok but a bit lazy on the ball sometimes, Im yet to be convinced but he put in another okay performance yesterday)

Dabizas - 7 (played well, perhaps a little unfortunate with the sending off at the end and we will miss him while hes serving his ban.. no doubt we'll be playing dion at the back and moore upfront while hes out..)

McCarthy - 7 (Very good display again, bit dissappointed he appealed for offside rather than challenging Harewood for their first goal, but was just a minor niggle in an otherwise faultless performance)

Maybury - 5 (Not the best we've seen from him, I cant really describe why he didnt play well, everytime he was taken on up the flank he was just skinned =/)

Gillespie - 8 (Top performance again, taking people on, dont think he ever lost the ball and capped it all with a brilliant route 1 volley reminiscent of Dickov's strike last season in our 4-0 win against Leeds)

Gudjohnsson - 6 (so-so.. a rough and tumble player in every sense)

Hughes - 8 (Great performance, the run for the penalty was great, also cleared a crucial shot off the line which was the penacle if a fine defensive display.. Has great ball control and looks very creative, one of the players you can't help but feel has big things ahead of him)

Tiatto - 4 (Lost the ball on a number of occassions, perhaps tired? Not one of his better performances thats for sure..)

Dublin - 7 (Has a great presence wherever he plays on the pitch but I think he is particularly useful upfront as hes fairly good at holding the ball up and very good in the air)

Conolly - 8 (Energetic display for the whole time he was on the pitch, good runner, fairly good technically, confident penalty I can also see shades of the 'pest' character Dickov became famous for while he was here... not afraid to run at people aswell which is another good sign..)

Williams - 6 (did'nt do a great deal - noticed on one occassion he was guilty of taking to many touches again and consequently ended up running back with the ball to the edge of OUR area and losing posession.. dangerous.. but I like Gareth, if he can sort out that aspect of his game - he will be a top midefielder for us)

De Vries - 5 (useless target man =/ he chases the ball out to the wings and comes far back to, if we are going to use De Vries I wish we'd stop sticking up front on his own =/)

Stewart - 7 (did well for the brief spell he was on, was skinned by Harewood near the end but didnt give up back tracking, didnt win the ball back but came out with a nasty looking injury - hope it doesnt keep him out for long though)
