davieG Posted 19 March 2005 Author Posted 19 March 2005 What a day that was! 80758[/snapback] Can you see them now?
Cat Burger Posted 19 March 2005 Posted 19 March 2005 They are really good Davie, is that Ali Mauchlen ripping up turf
Katy Posted 19 March 2005 Posted 19 March 2005 Ahhhhhh Dave, they are class pictures - I sobbed my heart out after that game and had to be dragged off the pitch but not before I nabbed some turf which has since carked it! Ahhh happy days.
Jonbluefox9 Posted 19 March 2005 Posted 19 March 2005 Was that your season ticket seat? That was directly behind my season ticket seat. I was level with the touchline and about two rows behind the wheel chair section. It was a great day. Perfect weather, perfect result, perfect timing of the final goal and a perfect ending for Filbert Street. Got my piece of turf without having to dig. I found a divet that had popped up after a challenge. I've still got it growing using the seeds it makes every time it dies off. I've got some pictures of me and my brother on the pitch but I don't think my scanner's up and running and I don't know where the pictures are.
Guest Daniel Posted 19 March 2005 Posted 19 March 2005 Quality pictures there Davieg. Remember that day well, got some of the golden turf.
Durnerz Posted 19 March 2005 Posted 19 March 2005 Went on the pitch, mobbed gary lineker and many other celebrities, was class. ONLY ONE MATTY PIPER!

I'm afraid my turf wilted and died.

Jonbluefox9 Posted 20 March 2005 Posted 20 March 2005 Don't know if any of you went to Filbert Street a couple of weeks after the final game for that auction. The day before the auction it was access all areas. My Dad climbed through the hole in the Carling Stand roof and had a wander around up there. Tried to nick a flag pole but they'd been removed to be sold in the auction. Walked round the roof of the North Stand and just went everywhere. Nicked whatever was left in the manager's office including masive pieces of paper with the pitch on for tactics and scouting reports on opposition games. Nicked boxes of Ladbrokes mini pens that were still on the ledge, cos you never know when you might need one of them. It was great. I've got my seat but it's still in pieces because I don't know what to do with it. I loved Filbert Street and my lasting memory will be the blue and white scarves that people hung over the back of the Kop after the last game. I can imagine those scarves going to Wembley with their owners and seeing great moments and they'd been left to go down with Filbert Street. A bad memory will be after the final match with the oldies playing when people just started to kick their seats in and all you could hear was the bashing in the dark.
