Durnerz Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Who in your opinion has the best set of supporters? For me it has to be Portsmouth.
Maybes Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Aside from the moaning it has to be newcastle fans. They consistently get 50k+ at home games and take massive numbers away from home. Mental they are.
Simi Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 *waits for the Liverpool bandwagon* I think Villa are really good away from home, not always the best at home. But very good.
purpleronnie Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 For home games - its close but portsmouth are up there but there amount of songs is poor. Away - man utd In other leagues, leeds, sheff wed, aldershot
leedslad Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 http://www.foxestalk.co.uk/forums/index.ph...70&hl=Leeds I'd say Sunderland. There aren't many teams who bring 6000 to ER on a Tuesday night, or 8000+ to places like Barnsley. Wednesday's away fans are worth a shout too. Anyone who thinks Liverpool's fans are a good- don't believe the hype. Yes, Anfield at it's best is good, but it rarely achieves it. Newcastle are also overhyped. They've taken less than 200 to some European games.
lildave3 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 In the Prem, I personally rank Villa, Spurs and Pompey among the best. I do wonder what Pompey would be like without the constant bell/drum though.
Simi Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 No doubt Leeds have good fans... European night at Anfield.. Come on Villa...
Floating Fox Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Hang on, this doesn't say anything about being English... Erm...where to start Borrusia Dortmund Urawa Reds Vfl Bochum St.Pauli Zulte Waregam The last three, I've been too. I could go on, and on.
Shrenchel Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Aside from the moaning it has to be newcastle fans. They consistently get 50k+ at home games and take massive numbers away from home. Mental they are. They got the numbers and they stand away but they are often very poor vocally. I'd say Man United. Especially at away games. ALL of them, ALWAYS stand. They are generally loud as fook. They have creative chants for each player, which other teams always nick. Got a good sense of humour in their songs. Always sell out away allocations despite being charged ridiculous prices because clubs class it as one of their premium fixtures and cus they know the united fans will cough up whatever. Villa are very good away from home as well though. Leeds too.
DB11 Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 No English club... Probably because you can't show the passion like in foreign countries were the laws of more relaxed eg. setting off flares etc.
Shrenchel Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 World-wide I'd prolly say Boca Juniors. The atmosphere was fooking ridiculous compared to anything I've experienced in Europe.

I remember seeing that on The real football factories international and it looked mental, especially when they score, you can't imagine that at the Walkers or in a fact any other British football stadium, the headline the next day would be 'Hillsborough 2'

I've been in the Newcastle away end on manier occassion and they are imressive vocally.
purpleronnie Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Best atmsophere I've ever witnessed (live) was PSG V Marseille, both fans were insane, constant noise and colour for 90mins (before and after match too).
Sparky Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Man City have got good fans , plenty of songs and still sold out Maine Road when in league 1 !!! Not sure if atmosphere has changed since the move to the city of manchester
Head Honcho Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Aside from the moaning it has to be newcastle fans. They consistently get 50k+ at home games and take massive numbers away from home. Mental they are. I disagree. I've seen City with just as many fans as Newcastle at St James Park in the past! The best fans by far are Celtic fans. An estimated 30 million fans worldwide and more supporters clubs then any other team. .......................and I hate the Tims
Shrenchel Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 The best fans by far are Celtic fans. By that logic the best fans in the world are Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, AC Milan etc.
Shrenchel Posted 9 March 2008 Posted 9 March 2008 Not sure if atmosphere has changed since the move to the city of manchester From my mates tell me it's not nearly as good as it was but still pretty good and a damn sight better than what a lot of clubs end up with after they move to their shiny new stadiums.
