Coulthard on Massa: 13 retired!! And anyone care to explain why Raikonnen finished so low with so little cars?
Asha Posted 16 March 2008 Author Posted 16 March 2008 13 retired!! And anyone care to explain why Raikonnen finished so low with so little cars? He was an absolute joke. I support Raikkonen and so was really gutted. Perfect strategy, just kept fooking up turn 3. Raikkonen and Bourdais actually retired with 2/3 laps to go but were both still classified.
dandannieldanok Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 What happened with Coulthard then, why did he say that about Massa
Father Ted Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 What happened with Coulthard then, why did he say that about Massa I can only ASSUME that they collided
Brainy Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 What happened with Coulthard then, why did he say that about Massa Massa collided with him at the first corner and completely wrecked his car. Some people said it was Coulthard's fault although I fail to see why Whether you've seen the crash or race yet, I'd even say that Ferrari told Massa to do something like that to get the safety car out as it would have given Raikkonen a huge advantage. Anyway that race was awesome. Felt sorry for Boardais at the end, same with Kovalainen with the safety car mucking up his race. Glock's retirement was pretty dodgy, another mechanic getting ran over (not by Nakajima this time). Ferrari were an absolute joke, Massa quite unlucky his his accidents but Raikkonen.. that was an awful drive. Beautiful drive from Hamilton, never really challenged though. Well worth getting up to watch that.
Fox You Forest Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 When i looked at the sky news website earlier it said naka finished 6th.
Asha Posted 16 March 2008 Author Posted 16 March 2008 When i looked at the sky news website earlier it said naka finished 6th. Yeah since posting Barrichello has been disqualified...so Nakajima, Bourdais and Raikkonen all get a point more. Get in.
lildave3 Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 I thought that was a pretty damn good race. Coulthard saying that was genius
The Stig Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Massa collided with him at the first corner and completely wrecked his car. Ferrari were an absolute joke, Massa quite unlucky his his accidents but Raikkonen.. that was an awful drive. Beautiful drive from Hamilton, never really challenged though. Well worth getting up to watch that. It was 100% Coulthards fault. Massa went up the inside cleanly without making contact and under breaking had the inside line, therefore it it his corner. Coulthard admitted to Louise Goodman that he'd seen him, so therefore he should have known that Massa was coming through and gave him the corner, not turned in. Massa was on the inside line. I've been in that situation in Karting countless times and everytime you try and close the door as DC did you end up spinning off and it's always your fault. DC's comments after were a disgrace, I don't know wheather anyone saw the live ITV broadcast but he threatened to knock seven shades of sh*t out of the little b*stard reffering to Massa which is unacceptable for a pro, especially when it was his own fault. Other than that great race, the lack of traction control is ensuring that the races are going to be action packed. Well done Lewis as well, kept a cool head when others failed to (Kimi!). Also they'd have never told Massa to do that as you risk breaking your suspension (which is what happened) and they lose precious construcotr points which they were already short on due to Kimi's low position.
SamL Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Great performance from Hamilton. Top weekend for him, he was on top throughout. I just hope he can carry it on. One race down, 17 to go. Come on Lewis.

The Stig Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Is it not 18 18 Races in the year, he's had one of them so 17 to go
Brainy Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 DC's comments after were a disgrace, I don't know wheather anyone saw the live ITV broadcast but he threatened to knock seven shades of sh*t out of the little b*stard reffering to Massa which is unacceptable for a pro, especially when it was his own fault. It was a joke, surely.. Also they'd have never told Massa to do that as you risk breaking your suspension (which is what happened) and they lose precious construcotr points which they were already short on due to Kimi's low position. Massa was on a road to nowhere. Raikkonen had a better chance of getting points but he blew that. Its not unlike Ferrari to do somethin out of the blue like that anyway.
SamL Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 18 Races in the year, he's had one of them so 17 to go 16 March 2008 Australia, Melbourne (0430 GMT start) 23 March Malaysia, Sepang (0730 GMT start) 6 April Bahrain, Manama (1230 BST start) 27 April Spain, Barcelona (1300 BST start) 11 May Turkey, Istanbul (1300 BST start) 25 May Monaco, Monte Carlo (1300 BST start) 8 June Canada, Montreal (1800 BST start) 22 June France, Magny-Cours (1300 BST start) 6 July Great Britain, Silverstone (1300 BST start) 20 July Germany, Hockenheim (1300 BST start) 3 August Hungary, Budapest (1300 BST start) 24 August Valencia, Spain (1300 BST start) 7 September Belgium, Spa-Francorchamps (1300 BST start) 14 September Italy, Monza (1300 BST start) 28 September Singapore (1300 BST start) 12 October Japan, Fuji (0530 BST start) 19 October China, Shanghai (0800 BST start) 2 November Brazil, Interlagos (start time TBC) Theres the calender so yeah it's 17 to go.
isaidno Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 What a crazy race. Ferrari were supposed to be the team to beat & both cars broke down. Raikkonen did not drive like a champion, made some mistakes. I think Coulthard was partly to blame for the accident, he should have gave massa a bit more room.
Asha Posted 16 March 2008 Author Posted 16 March 2008 Waking up at 3 in the morning to watch Hamilton win wasn't the perfect start to the day for me. Raikkonen should be making less mistakes than this. He was at least heading for 3rd.
The Stig Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 It was a joke, surely.Massa was on a road to nowhere. Raikkonen had a better chance of getting points but he blew that. Its not unlike Ferrari to do somethin out of the blue like that anyway. I'd be very surprised if it was. It's far from the first time DC has done something like that, and if it was its a innapropriate, poorly timed, unprofessional joke to make. He may have not been in a spectacular position but with all the retirements he could have picked up a valuable handful of points. I'm 100% sure he was not instructed to take Massa out, and anyway as I explained in my previous post the crash was completly his fault.
Tommy G Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 It was out of character for him but I found DC's comments hilarious! Hamilton made it look easy, kept a cool head especially with all the safety cars that had to come out. Raikonnen made a few poor errors, especially when he tried to out break Kovalinen (I think) and wen't straight into the gravel and almost hit the wall! Poor reliability also from the ferraris. Hamilton even said his car had more pace to come if needed so hopefully it will be a repeat next weekend. I also thought it was interesting when the camera wen't 'backstage' after the race finished while they were putting their sponsors watches and baseball caps on.
Floating Fox Posted 16 March 2008 Posted 16 March 2008 Great race. Lack of TC is brilliant. Bit of a shambles from me though Wanted to watch Quali & race live. Stayed up all night on saturday to watch the quali, fell asleep when the first car came out! Woke up at 6 Got in drunk at 1am this morn and zonked straight out no chance of seeing the race life Oh well, had to celebrate the 3 points.

Pretty good race, very action packed. Not often we get to celebrate three points is it? Sounds like a good excuse to get drunk though.
