lildave3 Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 Never read the thread and I am sorry if I am boring all of the astute football manager watchers on here.Ollie is a clown, always was a clown, always will be a clown. If we want a clown in charge, our wishes have come true. Game as a badger and all that - but we are a football club - not a set. Now, Milan, if you had purchased a bank you would want a banker in charge, but you purchased a FOOTBALL CLUB so you need a person (male or female) who knows what is required to win football matches. This manager may be a boring old f*rt, but - hey - you can hire a comedian(ne) when you are bored. "Ollie's Army" was what we all craved - and what did we get? Hayles, Howard, Bori, Lazco, et al - well actually we lost Al !!! - and Leeds are delighted!! He was a 'clown' at QPR and Plymouth, and yet he still somehow managed to win games in his part time job. Disgusting isn't it!
orod Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 if we could bring in a ridiculously big name for the last three games then we should do, cus just the presence of such a big manager would lift the lads and get us the 5/6 points we need to stay up. but thats almost defo not going to happen so we should stick by holloway, get 30,000 down to the walkers and sing out hearts out for the lads.

Yeah but what good is that in the long term? It would more than likely lead to another relegation battle next season, leading to the same situation. And what big name would want to join us
Manager Posted 13 April 2008 Posted 13 April 2008 He was a 'clown' at QPR and Plymouth, and yet he still somehow managed to win games in his part time job. Disgusting isn't it! See all the BIG WIGS are out on this one! - Bring it on - I said from the start he was rubbish. No - Plymouth have a better record since he left - and they sold some of his rubbish (check it out) (Can rely on Thracian for some help eventually) Just get over it - Ollie has played about 17 different formations since Christmas - I have been counting. There is only so far that passion can take a club - successful clubs rely on tactical nous and talent. He is an excuse maker - not a manager - there are some real football people out there who can manage this club - give them a chance.
Fox You Forest Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 See all the BIG WIGS are out on this one! I would like to know what you mean by that? Also why is it you only comment on the Ollie and none of the other aspects. Also who would be your choice to be in charge ?

My television isn't working that well, but I ain't gonna throw it out until I have a better replacement. My bed is also rocking and kinda broken (due to a lot of sex) but should I just throw it out and sleep on the floor which is even worse
Manager Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 OK, when it's all said and done, who should we bring in? Also who would be your choice to be in charge ? A football manager - night.
Koke Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 A football manager - night. You are one of the clueless Ollie Out Bandwagon Jumpers so go on, give us one decent manager who would realistically come here? Don't name me Big Sam cos he wouldn't set a foot inside this club, he's too big for us. I got all night. I'm waiting.

Fat Ron Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 No point sacking him with 3 games left.Milan will definately sack him at the end of the season though. Ollie out!If he's gonna go at the end of the season why not sack him now? Get Walsh and Taggs in for the last 3 matches why not? This really does prove how fickle our fans are... I dont think it would be a good idea to sack Ollie yet but I do wish he would keep his gob shut and just concentrate on Football.
Master Fox Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 Burrows was doing just fine. Shame on all of you. I wonder what the outcome might have been if Megson had stayed? Interesting...
Phlashman Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 What depressed me more than the result on saturday was listening to the radio on the way home, hearing moron after moron say we should sack Ollie and get Walshie in! Also people saying Ollie had enough of a chance. Jeez, when will people realise this season was boned from the moment the 'Megson for Bolton' chant started? Sure you can say he's had a Jan transfer window. But can you really say Ollie had a fair shot at building a team, his team? I doubt it. Rather than turning on him, why don't we support him?
davieG Posted 14 April 2008 Posted 14 April 2008 If you compare him with what's happened at clubs in a 'similar' situation then it 's clear that he's not had the same impact. When he signed for LCFC the table looked like this. 17 LCFC 17 points 22 QPR 15 points 23 CP 14 points 24 Norwich 9 points All three of those clubs recruited new managers a few weeks prior to us. This is how they currently stand 6 CP 65 points 14 QPR 55 points 16 Norwich 52 points 21 LCFC 48 points Now granted some may have started from a more stable base but they've all had the benefit of the January window to make an impact and again some have spent more than others. What I can't see is any justification for us being worst off than we were before Ollie joined us. Whatever state the club is in the guy's had time and money to at least stabalise us in decent safe position, by any measure you'd like to put on it he has failed to do that simple thing. That's not to say we should get rid at this time, although frankly I'm not paid to decide, people talk about stability and I agree with that but to have stability you also need to have confidence in the person you're relying on to provide that stability and more importantly that he can produce some degree of progress - I personally, based on what i've seen so far do not have that degree of confidence to believe that Holloway can provide this.
