the_bowman Posted 2 May 2008 Author Posted 2 May 2008 Well, I'm not sure what to say about the referee, so I won't say anything at all. It all rests on the away leg on tuesday now - good crowd though only a few hundred off full capacity.

potter3 Posted 2 May 2008 Posted 2 May 2008 2-2 , all from set-peices Got video of the two Burton ones, plus on of the disallowed ones
placidcasual Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 For some reason the second leg is on Setanta USA. Anyway, I didn't realise Kevin Poole was still playing.
placidcasual Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Holy shit. Cambridge score after 30 seconds. Nice to see they are still playing long ball after all these years.
purpleronnie Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Watching it on my PC, good save and lucky in fell to a cambridge player, I think burton are cursed.
Floating Fox Posted 6 May 2008 Posted 6 May 2008 Burton ain't a football league team. Glad Cambridge won really!
Ajax Treesdown Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Burton ain't a football league team. Glad Cambridge won really! I'll second that, went to watch Burton Vs Ebbsfleet in the Trophy few weeks back. BURTON=EXTREME HOOFBALL!! I think their results are decided on whether it is windy or calm weather. Daryl Clare is shite too.
shen Posted 7 May 2008 Posted 7 May 2008 Burton ain't a football league team. Glad Cambridge won really! I was amazed to find out I'd heard about a good few of Cambridge's players. Lee McEvilly, didn't he used to be quality when at Rochdale? Got callled up to the NI squad too if I remember right..

Burton do play horrid football, still wanted them to win though, was a vagely entertaining game.

Kevin Poole denying Fortune-West late on with a decent little save made the game for me.
the_bowman Posted 10 May 2008 Author Posted 10 May 2008 I don't see where all these negative comments about our tactics come from. Burton are definately a better team when the ball is down on the floor. When we get in quick passing and take on defenders we can beat any conference team on our day. And Ebbsfleet away... yes we were playing hoofball then and for the life of me I can't understand why, must have been Clough trying something out. Daryl Clare is quality
