City 5/1 to go down before Wednesday game

I put £30 on us to go down before the game at Betfair - nearly enough to get me a season ticket next season if the unthinkable happens.

Now we're just 13/8.

Still want them to stay up?

Making the best of a bad situation.

I was going to put £100 down - shame Betfair only allowed up to £30.

I couldn't care less if I don't get any money back.

Did you try doing 3 or 4 seperate bets?

I had a look but unfortunately the other odds offered limited you to small amounts.

Personally I wouldn't want to lay anything like those sort of odds so I don't blame the layers on Betfair for not offering big stakes. Ludicrous odds and the only reason I didn't go for it myself was because I made an express decision not to do it any more after a certain point. Missed out on crazy odds but I'm happy with my current position numbers-wise.

It's a win-win situation.

We stay up- you're happy.

We go down- you're quids in (and the rest of us cry)

Win -Win always means Lose - Lose though...

I took the advice from Geo and laid Leicester to go down on Betfair after having a punt on us to go down a few months back when the odds were very good. So it's a win win situation for me cash wise, but I win more if they get relegated, but i'd rather we stay up obviously and I can still walk away with some notes in me pocket for the celebration on Sunday.

This week is going to kill me.

Mate, lay them off now.

Then your in a no lose position.

And should be a nice little profit margin whatever the outcome.

Ok so here we are, a game to go and so far we've tried:

-new managers

-new players

-new formations

-supporters being a 12th man

-relying on other teams to win

and yet none seem to have worked

now for my master plan...

everyone raid your pockets and stick a bet on leicester to be relegated (7/4 best odds i see so far), I'm as unlucky at betting as you get, so it has to work.

If not, extra drink in the pub :)

Joined up at Bet 365 to place the bet at odds of 7/4 (2.75) so chucked £50 down and should win £87.50 on Sunday and as I have just joined them and placed a £50 bet they have given me a free £50 bet so gonna try cash that out on tonights games.

Wish I would have bet on us going down sooner.

Tempted to use my free £50 bet to bet again on Leicester being relegated.

So if we get relegated I would get back £87.50 + £50.00 Stake = £137.50 Bet Number 1

Plus my free £50 bet where the stake is not returned £87.50 Bet Number 2

So £175 profit if Leicester get relegated, might ease the pain but I hope I lose, its only the money I would have spent going to Stoke if I could have got a ticket.

Do it. I'm 2 grand up if we go down and it's the only thing stopping me from slitting my wrists. I'm toying with the idea of opening a new current account for next season solely for a season ticket and away games. I don't feel guilty. Post-Stoke I'll have been to 41 games this season and sung my heart out at the vast majority of them. This is killing me but the day after Southampton away on a Tuesday night, I looked at the odds and knew I'd regret it if I didn't take them. Like you, I'm praying to all the gods that I don't believe in that we stay up. I was devastated last night when Lallana's goal went in. I don't have any faith in the players and I can't cope with the idea of playing Northampton and MK Dons in league matches next season. It all feels surreal. I've felt we were on the road to safety after so many games recently (WBA away, S****horpe home, Barnsley away) but still had this nagging feeling at the back of my mind that we're just not capable of it. Sunday will be absolutely disgusting but if we can somehow pull it off, it'll be one of those all-time "I was there" days. I also toyed with the idea of going to the Southampton match instead but I've ditched that idea.

cant believe you lot are putting money on leicester going down.....no matter what the odds are, i could never ever bet against the lads - its just not right.

this isnt the kind of spirit that is going to help us stay up.

I kind of feel the same way, it's just not right.

Meh, each to their own I guess, but I can guarantee that if we escape relegation I'm going to be in this thread taking the piss out of everyone that lost money.

:P

It's just as well I'm not going to the game, don't want them to pick on the bad vibes now, do I?

I couldn't care less if it's seen as 'not right' - the players, management and MM haven't been right all season. Of course I don't want to see us to go down, but at least I'll have some sort of consolation (albeit very little) if it happens.

I'd be more than happy if you did that, yer bastard.
