Father Ted Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Great article on Ian Holloway God, I've only just realised that he took over in November And all those people protecting him and he's had that much time
Ultra Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Goodbye Ian H******y It's time for Ian H******y to get out the gardening tools once again.Leicester City have been relegated to League One with H******y facing the sack. H******y left Plymouth Argyle to take-over at the Walkers Stadium last November just days after pledging his allegiance and future to the Pilgrims'. His sudden and unexpected departure angered everyone connected to Argyle, leaving the club in disarray Today justice has been served with H******y taking Leicester down to the third level of football for the first time, ruining a great and friendly club in the process. In fact, it could be said that H******y has ruined two football clubs in one season. Our thoughts are with the poor Leicester fans who had to put up with the media clown since November. Plymouth Argyle fans thought that Ian H******y was something different. It turns out he's just like any other manager, in fact, he's worse because of his constant pledges of love for Plymouth Argyle Football Club. Has any manager in the history of Argyle ever let the fans down as much as H******y has? The former Queens Park Rangers manager often spoke about loyalty and his love of the Argyle fans - the Green Army. He spoke with a passion, he spoke of leading Argyle to the Premiership and his frequent rallying of calls to arms were legendary. Argyle fans bought into H******y's enthusiasm, they believed that he was 'the one', a good honest guy who we can all stand beside, shoulder to shoulder. The Bristolian was the Green pied piper, preaching loyalty to not only the fans but to the players as well. We took it all in, devouring every last drop at the temple of Ian Holloway. Except that H******y was a fake, his words were just sound bites for an eager reporter, blatant self-promotion to grab a headline or two. His promises were empty, his musings were false and his vision for Plymouth Argyle built on deception. Managers come and go, that's accepted in football but H******y was different, he pledged allegiance, three weeks before he left Argyle for Leicester he said: 'I've signed a contract and until my chairman tells me any different, I'm staying here.' But H******y betrayed the fans and players of Plymouth Argyle. Just before his departure in November a national newspaper reported that H******y was unhappy at Argyle, stating that he had become disillusioned at Home Park. But H******y was quick to dismiss the speculation, calling it 'poppycock'. This is what he said just ten days before he joined Leicester, when asked about the newspaper report: 'Ask anybody who knows me how I feel about Plymouth Argyle and they will tell you the truth. 'If you need me to say it again, I'm in love with the place. It's absolutely magnificent. 'Ask my players who I'm trying to talk into staying here how Ian H******y feels about Plymouth Argyle. I think they will tell you the truth. 'It's all poppycock! It's absolutely pathetic. 'But the media is a very powerful thing and, unfortunately, a rumour can become a bigger rumour.' When asked about the Leicester City rumour H******y again poured scorn on such lunacy, he said: 'There's not a scrap of truth in any of it.' After saying all that H******y resigned from Argyle just ten days later, amazing isn't it? Argyle fans would have every right to label H******y a hypocrite. There might have been problems behind the scenes at Home Park and financial promises made to H******y by the Argyle board may been broken or delayed but did that justify H******y walking away from a job that rescued him from the scrap-heap? H******y knew full well the tight financial restraints that the Pilgrims operate under but still the board backed the manager and provided him with the funds to break Argyle's transfer record not once but three times! This whole sorry affair will serve as a warning to all football fans and club chairmen. Just take H******y's quotes and sound bites with a pinch of salt; he doesn't mean a word! Enjoy your time in the garden Mr H******y! Imagine how bitter this article might have been if he'd taken Plymouth to the lowest point in their history (as he's done with us), and not one of their highest. But Argyle ended up with a better manager in the end. Let's hope we do too!
Chimp Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Great article on Ian Holloway http://www.wikihow.com/Let-Someone-Go
Corky Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Goodbye Ian H******yImagine how bitter this article might have been if he'd taken Plymouth to the lowest point in their history (as he's done with us), and not one of their highest. But Argyle ended up with a better manager in the end. Let's hope we do too! Some of their "fans" want Sturrock out. Unbelievable ain't it!? Holloway did a good job down there, he raised expectations.
sdb Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 i remember how all our fans were taking the piss at the plymouth lot when he came here and they moaned. we're now just as pathetic - if not more so.
The Reverend Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Goodbye Ian H******yImagine how bitter this article might have been if he'd taken Plymouth to the lowest point in their history (as he's done with us), and not one of their highest. But Argyle ended up with a better manager in the end. Let's hope we do too! Are you really sad enough to go and edit each Holloway to make it H******y in that article? Seriously mate, you have issues.
Koke Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Yawn. This must have been rehearsed about 1500 times but if it's the only way Plymouth fans can feel good about themselves, then by all means be my guest.
Scow Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 What's even funnier is that Sturrock thinks they'll be challenging for the title next season.
demon_dog Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Today justice has been served with Holloway taking Leicester down to the third level of football for the first time, ruining a great and friendly club in the process I like that bit about us, the reporter got it spot on. We are great and friendly. Anyone like to argue.
Koke Posted 5 May 2008 Posted 5 May 2008 Well, I really hope those c*nts (although there are some decent Plymouth fans) can piss off and stop the obsession about us. They got what they wanted, Holloway got us relegated, now **** off and fill that little cow shed you call a home stadium and support your team.
