FleckneyFox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Are about to stay in the Blue Square Premier for the third year running, Because Halifax are going to go into liquidation. The last 3 years they have finished in the last relegation place and stayed up because of Scarborough, Boston & Now Halifax....Unbeleivable! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...own/7392851.stm
Floating Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Unbelievable. Any chance of that happening to So'ton?
Floating Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Shame about Halifax though, top ground as well. I know. Hope they pull through
SamL Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I know. Hope they pull through I hope so too. Altrincham must be the luckiest team ever. I wish we could have some of their luck.
lildave3 Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 I hope so too. Altrincham must be the luckiest team ever. I wish we could have some of their luck. Exactly how many games have they won it that time though?
SamL Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Exactly how many games have they won it that time though? Not many, yet they still managed to stay up which is lucky. We don't manage to win many and get relegated by a point which is unlucky, I suppose. If we'd have had some luck last season we might have stayed up. Yes we were crap, but by the sounds of it so were Altrincham. If certain things would've gone our way, things could've been different. Things seem to have gone Altrincham's way.

SamL Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Yeah but long term I fail to see how Altrincham are going to benefit by being the whipping boys for 3 years in a row. It surely can't happen for the fourth time in a row if they manage to stay up this season. Something will change. I can see your point though pal.
Floating Fox Posted 9 May 2008 Posted 9 May 2008 Yeah but long term I fail to see how Altrincham are going to benefit by being the whipping boys for 3 years in a row. To be fair, this year they've improved & were only 2 points off safety, going down on the last day..but yeah I see your point.
Corky Posted 10 May 2008 Posted 10 May 2008 Talk about luck. They are not as lucky as East Stirling. They would have been relegated long ago if that existed in the Scottish Third Division.
