Ilkeston_Fox Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 As someone who never used these boards while the official site's board was up and running i find the fact the club think they can keep the fans quiet quite disturbing and my mind screams AS IF!! Though, saying that, i must admit after spending about a month on here reading posts and topics, i find this forum a damn site better than that of the offical web site, however i have sent an email to [email protected] complaining about the persistant lack of opportunity for supporters to show their views and opinions, yes, the players, club, manager and chairman will get stick - quite rightly so, but as shown on here that will subside and become more productive 'looking to the future' posts. "I would like to take this opportunity to register with the club, my continuing dismay at the absence of the msg boards on the lcfc official website. Ive seen the msg that the club put out about, and the reasons behind it, and im presuming that by keeping the boards out of use, the club is hoping that the fans anger will subside, by the time it finally sees fit to reinstate them, however i personally have my doubts. I also feel that given the season Mr Holloway, and his team served up for the long suffering fans, the hostile reaction they recieved is neither surprising or unwarrented, (in fact its prob well deserved) and if they can't take a bit of flack its a pretty poor tale. Now i have no idea of the content of the msg's that were posted, as by the time i logged on to put in my two penneth worth, the boards had been disabled, but hey their willing to take their wages every wk, even after sub-standard performances, but not willing to take a bit of stick, (about right i guess). Im staggered to be frank, at the gaul of the club, who will no doubt be expecting, the fans to fork out hard earned cash to watch the team again next season, in a league that none of us want to be in, and to deny them the right to get things off their chests is unbelievable!!!!!. Sadly we live in an age of politcal correctness madness, (pathetic in my opinion). Ive been waiting for the boards to be reinstated, but could not contain my anger any longer, to register my disgust at the way the club are treating its lifes blood. My apologise if this complaint dosn't actually come under your umbrella, but it seemed the best of the options availabe, but as i say if not, then please pass on this complaint to whoever is responsible for the msg boards ect, and i will look forward to his/her response at there earliest convenience. yours faithifully....." I would also like to say that even if the club reinstated the msg board i would still use this forum as first choice. Far more itellectual comments made.

It's nothing to do with "political correctness". All message boards have to comply with the law of the land. Sadly some posters on that site failed to realise that.

Why can't they monitor it like we do on here and delete any 'naughty' stuff -> because it's easier to deny everyone, lazy bastards who pay lip service to providing a service.
Monk Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 What do you hope to achieve from this email? It's utterly pointless and badly put together. Poor sods who have to reply to this at the club.

At a guess, I'd imagine that the people at Premium TV can't be bothered to do any level of actual work in return for the fees they charge the club to run the site. They're too busy covering their own backsides. The sooner they lose the contract, the better!
Monk Posted 21 May 2008 Posted 21 May 2008 Actually agree on that one Ultra. Now we're in L1 do we really need premiumtv? The site is crap at best I'd be surprised if LCFC get an income from all the ads on there. Mind you it's still probably cheaper than having our own web team.
Ilkeston_Fox Posted 21 May 2008 Author Posted 21 May 2008 One word: FoxestalkWhat's your problem? So every single LCFC fan knows about this site then? Also Talking Balls? some fans only used the official site's msg board, i did and have done for most of the previous seasons, apart from another site that for the life of me i cannot remember. I didn't know or use either of said msg boards until a month or so back. I think its just plain cheeky to deprive some fans the use of a msg board, you all use it, why can't the uses of the official one use it?? all because of some abuse?? they deserve some of it. But even so, as previously stated why can't it be monitored?

filbertway Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 http://www.google.co.uk/search?sourceid=na...ster+city+forum I typed Leicester city forum into google and look what happened. I'm sure the millionns of fans would do this and find this place quickly.
Number 6 Posted 25 May 2008 Posted 25 May 2008 If you seriously wanted to complain I wouldn't have used terms like 'msg' in your e mail.
