Dirty Cheating Politicans

Present day politicians are practising their own kind of anarchy under the guise of a perceived parliament and government. Frankly many are no better than your average criminal and even they aren't pretending to be acting for the benefit of the British people.

They're just pigs at a trough only their trough is bigger and easier to access.

I don't like to tar people with the same brush but I have zero respect for MEPs, MP and Local Councillors they seem to be devoid of any integrity or honesty.

What we need is a revolution!

Do they seriously offer any alternative to anything else? :dunno:

:whistle::D

The BBC have been making a big thing over these people who most people (including me ) have never heard of. Strange then that they haven't mentioned this at all.

Tony Blair.

Doesn't he make porno movies?

Not wanting to defend Blair - but that article concerns him taking out a mortgage which, the last time I checked, is neither illegal or breaks any party rules...unlike the three aforementioned Tories.

Was my first thought as well lol

Remortgaging your house, a 200% mortgage I may add, and getting the taxpayers to pay the interest on that house may not be illegal, but you or I couldn't get away with it. We should expect more from our prime minister.

No one is defending what the 3 tories did, but the system seems to encourage this sort of thing and in the same circumstances we'd probably all take advantage of this given the opportunity.

If the BBC is going to kick up a fuss about this then they could at least be even handed about it.

That is a shocking statement, systems don't encourage that sort of thing - lack of integrity does - there are millions of people involved in charitable activities that end up severely out of pocket I would imagine they'd resent and reject your comments quite strongly.

I should imagine there big problem at the moment is keeping up with all the numerous revelations even then it's just the tip of the iceberg I'd suggest.

If you got a job where one of the perks were that the company would pay for a new kitchen, put your wife/son on the payroll, pay for your nanny you would probably let them. You wouldn't ask where the money was coming from.

As for charities and the BBC come to that, I'm sure there are people working in executive positions in those organisations who enjoy similar perks.

The fact that the BBC can pay Johnathon Ross £16 million of license (tax) payers money makes their artificial indignation a bit hard to swallow.

I've never come across companies these days at least that can afford those kind of perks but even if they could they would be paid from the Companies profits not the public purse.

As for charities and the BBC come to that, I'm sure there are people working in executive positions in those organisations who enjoy similar perks.

Does that excuse others besides you said "we'd probably all take advantage" - I'm sure you can easily find one or two examples but to suggest we would all succumb is outrageous and it's not as if half these exposed claims are even legitimate.

I for one have been in various positions where I've been able to claim expenses and not only have I made every effort to ensure accuracy they've also been scrutinised thoroughly and at various levels.

The fact that the BBC can pay Johnathon Ross £16 million of license (tax) payers money makes their artificial indignation a bit hard to swallow.

Well I'm equally indignant about that but at least it's not illegal or underhand and according to the bodies involved is the market rate for the job.

The fact is these politicians are in a position of trust and are paid to represent their constituents they should conduct themselves with decorum and integrity there are far to many of them sailing to close to the wind of criminality and there is simply no excuse whether they are Labour, Tory or Monster Raving Loonies

I don't disagree with you Davie, I'm just a bit jaded with the whole thing .The whole of government ,national and local is rife with cronyism and extravagance at our expense. We just get used to it.

The thing that annoys me is the hypocrisy of the the main complainers.

The BBC another bloated publicly funded, self interested bureaucracy.

The press, amoral, two faced vultures who think nothing of lying to sell a few more papers.

The general public, a large percentage of whom(not all) would gladly cheat the system any way they could if they thought they could get away with it.

Sodom and Gomorrah is on it's way back and not just the sex stuff - i suspect that this is why old civilisations imploded/died and where replaced either by fledgling civilisations or anarchy.

We could do with some political sex pistols to shake the whole thing up.

i'm guessing some kind of election is iminent, this kind of crap usually comes to the surface at such a time...

So, people that irk you presently: politicians, the media and the general public

Frankly I am shocked - I really expected illegal immigrants and bootleg DVD sellers to be on the list too :P

Another day, another list of Tories sticking their snouts, trotters and anything else they can cram into the trough...

Telegraph - Spelman Taxpayers money to fund her nanny

Times - Robert Atkins Taxpayers money to fly to his son's wedding in the USA

Sunday Mail - John Purvis - various accounts of him syphoning up to £1,000,000 of taxpayers money

News of the World - Sajjad Karim - £26,000 of our money to his full-time teacher wife

...and then there's UKIP's Tom Wise buying his car on Euro-funds!

I'm just left wondering how they can be in the slightest bit electable when they are getting up to all of this before getting into office, as if they have learned absolutely nothing from being dropped by the country for doing exactly the same thing. Sleeze seems to be embedded in the philosophy of the party as incompetance is embedded in the other two major parties.

When does this revolution start davie?

They're all at it because by definition it's what they do. Politicians want power and money first, then they think about doing their jobs. Badly.

I sometimes think about alternatives forms of democracy (I'm a fun, interesting person, honest! ) and came up with one called microcracy which removes politicians from politics... when I can be bothered I'll put it all down in words and let people take the piss out of me for coming up with a stupid unrealistic idea. Personally, in my own head, it's pretty good.

Sorry - I thought about that shortly afterwards... >_<

Maybe a nice Mod could change it to "Dirty cheating politicians" or something more apt?

Don't worry about it, I'll go and mug an old lady later and make myself worthy of the privilege.
