Anyone heard of them before ? To be honest the only reason i've heard of them is because my mate's dad is the lead singer but they awesome.

They've been knocking around for years (20 plus, at a guess). They're fairly...erm...mature now.

They're a bit too Dadrock (a horrible term, but I cannot think of a better one) for my tastes but they have a loyal following in Leicester. I saw them at Summer Sundae a couple of years ago - I assume they're still going

Think my mate Adam plays with em and does their recording at his studios (Deadline)

Wasn't the lead singer a bit up his own arse?

I remember seeing them down the Charlotte years ago. I think they did two nights in a row or something. Anyway never really liked them but I know a few that did and they never stopped raving about them.

Give me GBOA or Crazyhead over them anyday

Yes but then again aren't all lead singers?

I've seen them loads of times a few times under their old name of The Filberts and they've always delivered.

Many reasons for them not hitting the big time which I won't go into but none might I add to do with lack of talent.

They are no Bally B or Kulbinder Rai though are they, and other Leicester's finest  !!!!

Lead singer was John Butler, i use to see him walking his dog and know his son pretty well. I heard they wasn't promoted right. They're pretty much a REM/Roses kinda band.

Maybe they should ask Kulbinder Rai for a colaboration, he has an excellent promotions team and manager......blood!!!!!

DPW's first EMI album, Shakespeare Alabama, came out in 1989 and was a criminally-underrated classic.

Get hold of a copy if you can, or at least catch them next time they play the Charlotte/Musician.

I think I saw them once at the Abbey Park Festival.

I say think cos those days were pretty hazy  and I know they were supposed to be a "headline" act along with some others (might have been Crazyhead), but I'm pretty sure it was the year that the MC5s came in last minute to replace someone.
