Tilley Posted 5 July 2008 Posted 5 July 2008 given we have (at present)Fryatt DJ Howard Hayles Chambers Sappleton Odihm.. (however you spell his name) I'd guess we won't sign a striker until we have sold a few, if this guy does come in I expect one of the above (or more) will be off pretty sharp Really laughable isn't it.
Guest Bilo Posted 6 July 2008 Posted 6 July 2008 Might not be a bad signing to be honest. In Adams, Dyer and Gradel, we have wingers with an eye for goal but I think we need an out and out striker who is capable of scoring 15-20 goals a season. Assuming DJ and/or Howard leaves, we may find ourselves a bit short in that department. It certainly looks as though the front line will have better service than last season. I for one would be interested to see a Fryatt-Gillespie frontline. Fryatt was brought in cos he could score at this level for Walsall and, with the right amount of service from midfield, could surprise a few people.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 Gone to Colchester for 400k. Our gain is Colchester's loss.
SamL Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 Colchesters record signing I think. I think he would've been quite a good signing for us. Oh well, I'm sure we can get someone better.
dandannieldanok Posted 7 July 2008 Posted 7 July 2008 Gone to Colchester for 400k. He'll do well alongside Lisbie. In a way I'm slightly disappointed we didn't get him, granted he would hardly be an earth-shattering signing but I'd prefer him up front to most of our current strikers, especially for 400k.
