On doctors orders im meant to be off the grog for ideally 3 months but at minimum of 1 month.

Now i'm pretty sure i can get to a 3 months easily BUT the annoying thing is there are alot of events that i will be attending that normally involve mate and i drinking (alot). I think that my social life will deteriate greatly and be the laughing stock of my mates if i give up the grog especially condiring this is not a life or death situation just fooking up my insides abit.

Has any one else had to give up the grog and how long did you last?

I gave it up when I was to do a 27km run. I didn't last long though.

I'm pretty pathetic in that all my social life revolves around beer.

Same here i've already had to have my first friday night in for a few months which is a good thing still feeling crook.

Tomorrow night will be the intresting one may have to interupt one of my boring mates usuall saturday night in with his missus, or i can live out a nightmare and go out to the pub and......................not drink :o

I know this isn't at all encouraging ..

But I couldn't do it ..

I'd continue to rot my insides I feel .. ;)

Thats my issue i've ruined the lining of my stomach too many times going on a massive bender with nothing to eat. causing every thing i eat to give me really bad acidic heart burn, felt like i was having a stroke or heart attack at only 22.

Tonight I'm going to watch Manchurian Candidate. You should do the same, my Aussie friend.

It'll take your mind off the grog.

Either that or get some shrimps on the barbie, get some sheilas round and rock out with your cock out all over their hot Aussie bodies.

I give up religiously from January 2nd until the end of February.

Still go out, however I drive, spend £3 on 16 lime and Soda waters and wake up without a hangover.

I may relapse 6/7 times during this period, but that doesn't count.

To add to my pain a mate after a few months of reminding him finally burnt me a copy of the movie........Beer fest

All the ladies are out drinking fingers crossed and a few txt msg later i may be required to pick one of them up and let them take advantage of me

The A-league starts this weekend and we have a home game in a fortnight. I've never been to a game sober, what if i don't like it my life may not be worth living

You won't like it. It will be sh it.

Everytime I've watched Leicester sober it's been absolutely appalling.

Same as AFL don't know how i liked it as a kid.

I've never intentionally given it up but I do find that frequently there'll be times when for 4 weeks in a row I won't have drunk any alcohol. No idea why, just happens sometimes

Everything is better when you're a kid.

I should get some credit for not making a tasteless joke here.

God forbid if it was stinking hot and i was going to the cricket tomorrow cricket with out beer is like a bbq with only tofu burgers to cook on it

I echo these thoughts ..

Remember watching us get punished by QPR at the walkers Sober ..

I was told by my doc that I was hitting the whiskey to hard.

The worst part is It became a mini addiction. I could actually see myself giving a speech at AA telling people how I sunk so low.

I managed to wind myself down and I realised just how awful I was.

I wouldn't say I was knocking it back every day, but the weekend was a real Whiskey bender. The bottles lined up everywhere at my place.

Now I certainly take it easy when I go out, just stick to some beer, and the occasional spirit.

I still like to get merry though!!

I had to give up the drinks for a month last year after a rather heavy night after missing dinner. Made it a shade over two weeks, after which I gave in and had a couple. Unfortunately, this then resulted in me having terrible gas for the next month. Be warned :(

I once did a months detox. It was easier than I thought it would be, but I saw no benefit at all. :(
