Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 some poor kicking aside I thought he was very commanding and instilled more confidence in the back line, especially when defending set pieces, the understanding with Hobbs from Liverpool obviously helps I'd definatly extend the loan and would personally try to buy him, good young keeper and obviously ready for 1st team at this level at least what did everyone else think?
Webbo Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Can't really tell until he has something more to do. Personally I don't know what Henderson did to be dropped.
Tevez Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Better than Hendo and I felt more comfortable with Martin in goal. Fair play.
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 Can't really tell until he has something more to do. Personally I don't know what Henderson did to be dropped. nor do I, I have been open about my lack of faith with Henderson but was still surprised to see him left out, someone next to me said maybe Pearson is going to rotate them every game, well he has so far but surely he isn't actually going to do so
syston_fox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Awful kicking, one very bad mistake which nearly cost us and no chance with the goal.... apart from that he had nothing to do so hard to make a judgement. I dont think Henderson should have been dropped though and i'd actually feel more comfortable with Hendo in goal at the moment!

I think at the moment he's just trying to work out who is the first choice at the moment.

How can you say that after 2 games ? Zsolt Laszcko anyone?
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 How can you say that after 2 games ?Zsolt Laszcko anyone? because it's obvious Logan isn't going to make it here and Hendo is 31/32, Martin has played enough league football (at other clubs) to know he would be more than adequate here, I notice no one is saying that about Hobbs

Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 people are saying we should buy him, you did not make the same point in that thread did you
Maybes Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 people are saying we should buy him, you did not make the same point in that thread did you Oh sorry. Obviously I missed that post.
AndyBrew Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 i thought he had a good game looks safe as houses plucking the ball out of the air, a few miscued kicks I agree, but looked confident and commanded his area well, all in all I thought he played well :chant:
syston_fox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Oh sorry. Obviously I missed that post. It was in the small print on one post along with "If we go up......"
JoeyB Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Maybes - Jimmy is never wrong, you shoudl know that now. - what he says goes.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Maybes - Jimmy is never wrong, you shoudl know that now. - what he says goes. Sarcasm isnt one of your strong points I see.
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 It was in the small print on one post along with "If we go up......" my point is valid people are saying we should buy him after a few games Maybes - Jimmy is never wrong, you shoudl know that now. - what he says goes. grow up you twat, it wasn't a case of right or wrong simply that people want Hobbs to be signed after just a few games yet its stupid to be saying the same about Martin
syston_fox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 my point is valid people one person so far are saying we should buy him after a few gamesgrow up you twat, it wasn't a case of right or wrong simply that people one person so far want Hobbs to be signed after just a few games yet its stupid to be saying the same about Martin
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 1 person suggested it and others agreed - hence people

He's had a lot lot more to do than Martin has, and whilst Martin has impressed, Hobbs will have impressed even more. We're seeing Hobbs doing very well, whereas we haven't had to see Martin do as well yet. As for dropping Hendo, maybe Liverpool have been on the blower.
syston_fox Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 1 person suggested it and others agreed - hence people The other person agreeing was you!
Jimmy Posted 23 August 2008 Author Posted 23 August 2008 Hobbs has started 1 game more and had about 5 mins as a sub as well, not that much more football, though I accept the point about having more to do The other person agreeing was you! look back through the thread, it was said before todays game
Uncle Albert Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Is someone trying to compare a goalkeeper with a defender?
Bert Posted 23 August 2008 Posted 23 August 2008 Hobbs has started 1 game more and had about 5 mins as a sub as well, not that much more football, though I accept the point about having more to do Even if you didn't it still would've been valid! You do sometimes come across as never being wrong though. And before you even mention it, I'm not whiter than white either.

I just try to argue my points is all, anyway back to topic, I like the look of the lad and would like to see the loan extended at least, especially with Pearson's apparent lack of faith in Logan and Cisak seems to be not ready yet either
